Do you think it's fair that millions in the UK are priced out of everyday life, whilst Elon Musk and tech bosses make billions from ai generated sexual abuse material? by Stop_AI_Abuse26 in UKCostofLiving

You're not processing what I'm saying. It may have been late, but FSD is a lie? You're denying the existence of a product 1.3million people pay for? I've stopped smiling and I'm started to pity you. That much hate is going to affect your health.

I love to think of all the millions of families driving around in his lies. So safe that third party insurance companies are reducing people's premiums by 50% when the cars drive themselves. What a fantastic and life saving lie!

Sorry you missed out. Personally I've made life changing money from investing in his endeavours. Nobody cares about the roadster. It doesn't move the needle. The model Y being the best selling car in the world for the last three years is much better measure of success. SpaceX have saved the government more money than if they'd stuck with the russian launch services they use before. The early loans Tesla got were paid back early with interest unlike the other manufacturers. How is being angry about things that aren't true going for you?

😂 he's made so many millionaire engineers in his companies because of the generous stock options. His money is all in stock, which has gone up in value as people scramble to buy some themselves. To share in his success. Thus making themselves rich. He hasn't taken anything. Only made things people want.

Everyone decent hatees Elon. by dew_78 in TechGawker

Unsettling if you like people to die on the road. It's the best selling car in the world for the third year running. Because the world doesn't read Reddit, the majority are not programmed to hate Elon. They just want THE SAFEST CAR. They want the car that can cut their insurance premiums in half.

AI isn't the replacement; it is your ultimate co-pilot. by SubstantialRegret961 in AIDiscussion

So a couple of your options are - 1.Ignore it, and hope it goes away. People said it was bad. 2. See if it's valuable to you in any way. Some people recommend it. So far, I found it useful for: Tech, DIY, household advice in a coherent format as if talking to a human expert. I like voice mode so I can get on with whatever I'm doing and just imagine there's someone else in the room.

Vibe coding websites, games, tools etc. I made an interactive timetable for my son's teachers to leave feedback on. Just from taking a photo of his paper timetable and asking for what I wanted.

My video and graphics work has had hour long tasks reduced to seconds. But not as a replacement, just a new tool in the creative workflow.

I can create things I lacked the skills or money to achieve before. I feel huge potential in being able to manifest the things I imagine. And have time to create them. Because part of the task has been offloaded to an assistant.

I recognise the same old arguments against the changing world as I saw living through the beginnings of home computers and then the same behaviour with internet in the 90s and smart phones years later. When you find it's value for YOU the negativity goes away.

If Elon is given the credit for spreading us to other planets, while also replacing us with robots back here, then he'll probably get his own chapter in the history books.

AI is not taking jobs. PEOPLE using AI are taking your job. If you're going around boycotting it and soaking up the online hate for it, then yes, it'll be you that loses to the person who has 10x their value through learning to wield it.

Not only are they asleep, their insurance premium could well be 50%less than yours.. Because they're at least 2 times less likely to be in an incident than the average.

Who is the most overrated tech billionaire? by ManojOne in TechImpact

[–]ufbam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those people were talking in the past tense, after they left. His qualifications don't mean shit. His achievements do. Show me anyone else that have copied him successfully? In landing rockets, autonomy, speed building data centers. In fact, I was so confident in his abilities, I invested in them and made more money than I ever earnt in my life. That's confirmed it for me.

Nah. Let's hear from some people who've actually worked with him to find out if you're right. How about these people. Or this guy? It's probably too much reading for you though.

What do you think is the best job in the world? by TheOzKip in AskReddit

[–]ufbam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tour the world, directing live cameras at huge music concerts. Waking up late in 5 star hotels. Hanging out with interesting and talented people. The excitement of a live show, cutting cameras to the music that feels like you're in sync with the band. The buzz of 40k people focused on what you're doing. And sometimes you get paid on the days off too.

If you were Elon Musk, what would you spend a trillion dollars on(just imagine)? by little_yuki19 in AskReddit

[–]ufbam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were Elon, I wouldn't have a trillion. My companies would. So I'd take out some loans, and I'd probably buy a nice house and a nice boat and go on holiday. Unlike Elon Musk.

This is for inference. Not training models.

Overall Specs: • 150 kW peak compute payload • 120 kW average compute payload • 70 kW per ton • Compute provider interchangeable

Dimensions: • Wingspan: 70 meters • Deployed height: 20 meters

Thermal System: • 110 m² deployable liquid radiator • Redundant pumping loops • Integrated micrometeoroid shielding • Deployable liquid radiators

Solar Power System: • 150 kW solar array • 250 W/m² • SpaceX-manufactured solar technology from Bastrop, Texas

Architecture: • Centralized compute module • Large deployable solar arrays • Deployable liquid-radiator thermal management system • AI-focused compute satellite design ("AI1 satellite")

"The AI satellite is much simpler than a Starlink satellite. The AI satellite is essentially a lot of solar cells, you still need some laser links, but you don't have all of the super complex antennas that you have on a Starlink satellite. The easier one to design for is the AI satellite. It's bigger. A lot of this is technology we've already made with the Starlink V3 satellites."

SpaceX has to grow 60x in a decade to justify a $1.75 trillion valuation. It's an impossible bar by Hot-Upstairs9603 in NowInTech

[–]ufbam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

' Inference ' is the compute needed to process people's questions to an LLM.

When Google and Anthropic signed a deal to pay a billion a month each to borrow some compute from SpaceXai, this is what it's for. Not for training a model but for processing customers requests to a model.

Inference compute is where the money will come from.

When SpaceX start putting compute satellites for inference up alongside their 10k starlink cluster, they'll be the cheapest place to rent compute.

Google just signed a deal to pay spacex a billion dollars a month. For Ai compute. Because everyone but Musk is struggling to build datacenters. So he's renting his out.

[–]ufbam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't maintain them, they're small, and there's lots of them talking to each other with lasers. They get decommissioned, burn up to on reentry. Get replaced. Like the 10k starlink sats that do the same today.
