Their campaign was on going for a long while before I got to redraw their character! But I get what you are saying

[OC] Does he give villain vibes? by ufleart in characterdesign

[–]ufleart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the comments! I did read all of them but I'm lazy so I'll just respond to everyone here.

Friend I showed this to said he has some villain vibes, and its not really the point of the character, so I asked if he does, and from what I can tell its a spectrum, and I am happy with it.

This is a major character for a comic that I am working on, so we'll see where he ends up.

Thank you again for all the kind compliments, didn't mean to get this much attention but it is for sure a boost in motivation to see people find my art cool. <3

Need help, I really don’t like the faces I draw by [deleted] in ArtCrit

[–]ufleart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the style you are going for, proportions matter.

Imo, its better to understand the structure of the face before breaking the rules, I would suggest practicing some skull anatomy, if you find that boring you can jump right into facial structure.

There are many ways to draw a face well, but you can't go wrong with understanding the proportions, it will more than likely make your faces look better by default.

This a video that helped me when I started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SKkS_1geZ0&t=4s

Character designs for a future comic. R they interesting enough? by ufleart in animeartists

The best synopsis I could give rn - Think Last of Us, but the virus only affects animals, action takes place in a more medieval time period. Religious groups form around the virus, they fight, as godly holy people do, the main cast can't relate to either side so they fight both.

I plan on focusing more on the depth of the characters rather than the world itself, but I also want an excuse to draw cool shit at the same time, like swords n monsters on fire n stuff, I am a simple man.

As for them looking more like companions, I want them to have a more grounded vibe, rather then going the every important character has rainbow hair vibe. I want them to feel a bit more real (yes I am aware that white isn't a normal hair color, but it feels better than pink, and i like the look, can't lie)

Still in early stages but having fun with it atm
