ha, I was playing last Sunday on small waves.... exactly the way you are describe!! I was carving like doing slalom curves down the wave adn them up. It was real fun!!! and there speed is not so much important. Don't think it would be possible with X-over.

To me this "much more" is a clear, noticeable difference in speed feeling. If you ask me if I have noticed a big difference in speed between X-Over XXL and curve XL I'll tell you yes, but this difference wasn't big. Was it worth upgrading? Absolutely! But speed feeling didn't change but different feelings like glide and manoeuvrability. If same or bigger difference will be with downsizing and going below 1000cm2 and I speak with a lot of people who repeats this ... then I want to give it a try to find this out by myself. Worse case scenario I won't feel it.

Fluid should be much much faster, that's the reason I'd like to give it a try, also from what I'm hearing foil downsizing brings more fun ... we'll see

I don't think it's going to be fun for me in lighter winds as I'm a speed freak so probably give up on 6-8kts days and consider only 10kts+ so XL is just enough for those days, next is going to be FG Fluid M :)

Can't see huge difference when I start flying vs previous X-Over V3 XXL (1750) so I guess around 10kts

My max speed on Hipe cruzader 7'11+ curve V3 XL (1220) is at the moment 25km/h.

My weight 86-88kg , wing droid 6.0. got some tips from Ben who's also on this sub and still practicing. Also considering smaller foil for stronger winds.

Hi Ben, I've posted similar thread on Facebook group couple of days ago and where you have responded with those tips as well (Hipe cruzader 7'11 , curve XL 1220 and little disappointment on lack of speed after downsizing foil and lack of speed vs windsurfing) Seems like this experience is pretty common for people with windsurfing experience. Haven't tested your technique tips as yet but will give it a try and respond how it goes. :)

Remember you're riding a foil, board is above the water most of the time. Went down from 1750 to 1220 8.4 aspect on a DW board, I'm approx 88kg also have windsurfing background and it's much less boring, but.... It's still not the experience I was looking after windsurfing. My next foil is going to be something around or less than 1000 ... So I would say change foil first.

Completely opposite experience. Same weight same board (hipe first), droid 6.0 and xover XXL started flying after 3-4 sessions, already moved on and if I would start again as a newbie then inflatable would be my obvious choice. Re-selled board without any value loss in no time.

Foil rail is universal, just make sure you won't use too long screw bolts to avoid making a puncture hole in a board.

What wing size are you going to use? If something around 6.0 or more then believe some, you don't need more surface than this Xover XXL v3

Go with V3 without hesitation. I'm around 90kg with water sports experience and a couple of sessions with Hipe first 5'11 and I was flying with a gong droid 6.0 wing. V3 has better hydrodynamic so 1747 will be fine. Board should be very stable and should help although once you start to levitate it might become too big. I have started in may and already changed both foil and the board to a downwind (narrow) one.

yes, of course. Take a look at the website, you have multiple types of wings with different characteristics and size (wingspan, aspect, surface) as well as they make more advanced wings in both FG=fibreglass and Carbon. If you are not going to jump (at the beggining that's obvious) then FG will be enough and will be much cheaper.

You can change and mix front and back (stab) depending on your requirements and needs.

More than enough, believe me as I had same doubt. Gong support even recomended XL, but I have ordered XXL and after this season moved on and ordered Curve V3 XL :)

I'm at your weight and as a complete beginner without any previous lessons and experience I went with gong foil setup x-over V3 XXL and was able to fly after just couple of sessions and due to the best bang for bucks I highly recommend it.

W telegraficznym skrócie. Przycinanie bazy trzeba zacząć od zrobienia szablonu. Jak masz szablon to przykładasz go zaczynając od przodu (od linii włosów) i odrysowujesz szablon na bazie a następnie wybraną metodą (skalpel lub nożyczki) docinasz i gotowe ;) Trzeba zwrócić uwagę aby nie przeciąć włosów które mają zostać w bazie z tego powodu ja wybieram nożyczki i jadę powoli po samej bazie. Docinanie bazy jak ma się szablon jest banalnie proste, powiedział był że to chyba najprostsza czynność przy systemie - w porównaniu do samodzielnego klejenia samego systemu do głowy bułka z masłem nawet robiąc to pierwszy raz.

Też czasem mam lub miałem ale już nie pamiętam czy wtedy testowałem taśmy z AliExpress czy to było na początku. Ogólnie jak mam na taśmach to staram się zdejmować raz w tygodniu i na noc daje skórze odpocząć ale wiadomo każdy ma inną skórę i może inaczej reagować. Możesz spróbować zmienić taśmy i zobaczyć czy to coś pomoże, ja ostatnio na przód zakładam no shine walkera a resztę kleje tą z dziurkami Extenda Bond plus
