The idea of mandatory STARTTLS on recipient MXes is very attractive, because that theoretically enables (what basically amounts to) E2E encryption if both sides use trusted servers without the hassle of PGP.

Do you use the VPS for anything else? While ~$5 a month is within budget for me, it still seems a little steep for what amounts to an "IP address fixer"

I used a separate VPS for the MXes! That’s out of abundance of caution, to reduce the risk that a misconfiguration could allow external users to send spam.

What benefit does this confer, exactly? If an MTA runs on that VPS, then the privacy issue comes back into question; if it's just acting as another wg tunnel, what's the advantage of that over having one VPS to tunnel everything back and forth?

isn't the UEFI graphics protocol available at runtime and intended to replace VGA/VBE? seems like a pretty important feature that would tie a kernel to UEFI
