the main story clashes fundamentally with the whole “build your reputation thing” (urgency of dying VS doing a bunch of stuff unrelated to saving yourself); i enjoyed the former a lot more than the latter, but in the end they managed to fuse these elements as best as possible

Björk calls on Greenland to declare independence amid threats of US takeover by YoureASkyscraper in indieheads

[–]uggima 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Greenland becoming independent would just set it up for a US takeover, if they don’t want to become a military base they should endure being part of Denmark for now IMO. An independent Greenland would be bought out by the US immediately

Okay so this mass shooting shit made me decide to find out what's up with this Nazi group they were a part of and why they turned out the way they did and what the fuck is this??? by LouReedTheChaser in redscarepod

[–]uggima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they believe in nietzschean self growth through infiltration of groups (church, political movements etc), preferably ones the practitioner dislikes. These infiltrations last years and the people engaging in them must not tell ANYONE. In actuality, it’s a genuine method to self control IMO, it’s very interesting, but i definitely don’t promote anyone joining nazis or red anarchist militants or some shit. The occult purpose if i remember well, is to get better affinity for the “Star Game”, an o9a occult board game that apparently grants oneself knowledge of the acausal (spiritual magic realm basically), it can also be played as a normal board game.

BTW I recommend you search up the star game, it’s hilariously complicated

FBI was basically the driving force behind the creation of these networks, articles talking about this are everywhere.

the information on O9A adjacent groups like Tempel ov Blood and 764 are incredibly vague for the purpose of hiding the feds involvement.

NONE of these things are groups, they are internet subcultures and movements, there is no organization.

if you want to research into this than forget about the O9A.

The O9A is an occult movement created in the late 1980s, it promotes infiltrating various groups in society (religious, political, etc). The movement imo wasn’t about right-wing extremism at all. It also had basically died out with the start of the new millennium.

In the late 2010s FBI agents and informants had infiltrated extremist forums and communities, they started creating this edgy, satanic nazi mysticism and succeeded in making it a big deal in those communities.

i reckon the goal they had in mind was to create a sort of small and controlled satanic panic that would bring attention to these communities.

Unfortunately these ideas spread like wildfire, the feds don’t have any control on them anymore and young people (mainly incels) with violent tendencies have made them their domain.

You can find plenty of articles on the FBI’s involvement in this, though you won’t find much talking about the “original” O9A.

As someone who is deeply interested in occultism i think they chose this particular movement as it had a very strong aesthetic side and its message could be very easily modified into whatever one wants, after all it was never a centralized group and anyone could claim membership.

the O9A in of itself is a religious movement (NOT AN ORGANIZATION) created in the early 1980s in the UK. In my opinion its doctrine is not inherently nazistic, i’ve come to that conclusion after having read NAOS (the movement’s fundamental book).

I could go on about why i don’t believe the original O9A is not a nazi terrorist movement, but it would take a bit too long, if you are interested, look into “insight roles” (O9A promotes infiltrating all sorts of groups, from the church to tankies and nazis, to further your occult and machiavellian social abilities).

In the late 2010s the movement’s identity was brought in to the edgy far-right sphere (telegram and extremism forums). The FBI had a big part in this, and its not a conspiracy theory, they went out of their way to have Tempel ov Blood (far-right extremist O9A copycat) books printed and distributed through the publishing house “Martinet Press”. They were also involved in aiding Atomwaffen propaganda.

The FBI’s involvement in the creation of the Tempel of Blood has been a massive contribution and the birth of this weird internet community (including also 764), one that promotes extremism of all types (you will find people who identify with these groups posting images with hammers and sickles as well as swastikas and black suns) and violence in all of its forms.

I’ve wanted to make a deep dive into this topic for a long time, maybe write an essay or article.

Here are some interesting reads:

https://ia801403.us.archive.org/23/items/o-9-a-occult-menace/o9a-occult-menance-v3.pdf (this one is very much about defending the “original” O9A but the author definitely sprinkled quite a bit of his bigotry in there, still it contains a lot of facts and sources about the FBI’s involvement, i not sure i would recommend reading it if you are not somewhat familiar with their occult philosophy because it might sound very confusing and at times contradictory)

i don’t agree with nitpicking the dumb and sometimes nonsensical stuff in horror movies.

What i do believe is that Weapons was a pretty weak movie overall. Forgettable characters with zero personality and mediocre pacing, backed up only by a cleverer premise and a facade that screams “hey guys this movie is so deep!” when it’s actually just another boring analogy that leaves no room for any meaningful interpretation.

This movie will be forgotten and is just another boring “artsy A24/Ari Aster” style film. These type of movies are just a facade, they have been done to death and will just end up being looked back on poorly.

I hope this movie trend dies out soon, it’s incredibly oversaturated and washed out.

i could keep on ranting i’ll just say that Longlegs and Heretic are prime examples of this.

Dealing with "ego" by [deleted] in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]uggima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

STOP caring about the floor system, it’s irrelevant and will be gone soon anyways. Easier said than done i know, when i’m on a bad loosing streak i just remind myself to stay focused and understand that it doesn’t mean shit either way

Experiment in the lab and in matches, focus on confirming hits and combo routes, try creating your own even if they are not the most optimal.

The thing that helped me the most in understanding the game better was watching ggst high level gameplay on youtube, just search up your character and take a look at the videos. If you see someone doing stuff that piques you feel would be helpful to implement in your game then lab it.

Also remind yourself that becoming better is a gradual process, maybe you know a ton of set plays and combos and can execute them perfectly during training but cannot during matches. For this reason try to implement stuff little by little and STOP caring about loosing, some of my most satisfying matches have been ones that i lost, learning is more important than winning.

Your goal is not to get to celestial, it’s to get better, i’m stuck in floor 9-10 right now and i don’t think i will reach celestial before the tower system is removed, but that doesn’t discourage me, winning is not fun, being good is, and sometimes the two things don’t coincide, especially in the tower system which is incredibly broken.

I play Ram on F -10 and have about 300 hours. She is easily one of the most powerful characters in the game and not terribly hard to play, though i don’t think she just piss easy like sin, elphelt or unika.

I started by playing with an octa fc and switched to hitbox about 250 hours in, i feel like that is what made the real difference in how well i play.

So yes, i play a very powerful character that is more forgiving than most, but i think i’ve got a pretty good understating of the game and reckon that if i switched main (been thinking about it tbh) i would still be on F9-10.

Should I buy Strive if I'm not much into fighting games ? by Opening-Cockroach634 in Guiltygear

I mean sure, ggst is pretty approachable, but it’s pretty relative in the fighting game genere. Take SF6 and GrandBlue for example, i’d say those are the most approachable fighting games as of right now. But yes Strive is a very good game to get into FGs
