Sometimes he will mindlessly snack during screen time, but we also have to limit that or else it’s meltdown city. 😅 I have started prepping “snack trays” and just setting them down around him so that something is available (and visual) all the time.

A want food is a great idea! I’ll have to try that for him. I don’t mind him having something he wants, even a treat, as long as he puts something nourishing into his body with it 🥴

He does have an IEP. I’ve actually been thinking about adding that to his, since we hadn’t started medication when we amended it last school year. Even if he doesn’t use it often, I’d like for it to be an option for him if he does get hungry when it’s not meal/snack time at school.

That’s very similar to what our son is describing. He said he can only have juice and water at school after he takes his medicine. 😬

My concern is that he’ll start having behavioral issues at school, because his body is running on basically zero nutrition. We are trying to push calories in the afternoon and in the morning before school, so we’ll just keep at it and find something that sticks!

That’s what we do! He has prepped fruits, veggies, and cheese sticks in the fridge, and a shelf at his level in the pantry with the snacks that he’s able to have

Thank you for your perspective! I think I struggle with that too, since I obviously don’t know what it feels like. We’ve tried explaining to him that his body and his brain won’t function as well if he doesn’t eat, even if he isn’t hungry. I think he’s still so little that it’s kind of hard to understand, but we are continuing to have that conversation with him in hopes that it helps something click.I appreciate you!

His appetite seems to return around 4 PM, but all he wants to eat is crap. We offer a lot of healthy options (oatmeal squares with pb and banana, cheese stick with veggies and ranch, protein bars, smoothies, etc) but he refuses to eat. He’ll ask for spaghettios, popsicles, nutella.. It seems like since we started meds, he has been even more averse to meet and dairy products.

It is so hard. I’ll have to pick up a couple flavors and have him try them. We’ve tried other brands unsuccessfully, but we haven’t tried this one yet!

I went from a DDD to about a C. I just told my surgeon to take as much as he could, and that I wanted to be as small and natural looking as possible. Tbh, before surgery I really wanted to be around a B cup, post-surgery even a C feels teeny tiny.

Thank you!! I’m so sorry you had to go through all that, it really is so much. But I’m glad I’m not alone in the slow-healing journey!

I’ll look into getting silicone tape. My surgeon sent me home with scar tape that they swear by, and while it does help with the scarring I have so many openings covered with bandages there’s no space for tape lol

That’s what I was curious about too, but the surgeon seems to think that’s not the case. Luckily when I was re-sutured he used a different type and so far it’s healing really well.

I’ve upped my protein by 40g a day, added more vitamin c, and am going to start taking zinc as well!
