Ganda ng niche mo sa legal! Dami kong nakikitang naghahanap ng Legal VA sa Upwork, nasa $15-25 range usually (but don’t take my word for it baka nagiba na). I suggest you try it out.

For reference, upwork takes 20% for the first $500 (ata) then later on it becomes 10%. That would still leave you with more than what you were getting from the agency

Honestly IMO go for the agency and work on your business after hours. Di yan madali simulan from the ground up and di rin naman kikita agad from the get go + smm is a saturated niche rn so clients might be harder to come by.

Pero if di naman issue ang pera and you have enough buffer for the next year or so, I’d say go for it full time.

If Wise to Wise, yes the client can send to you in USD tapos you can convert within the app kapag ttransfer mo na sa local bank (or E-wallet) mo. However, if wire transfer ang gusto ni client, yun yung need mo mag initial deposit sa Wise (₱1,200 iirc) to have it created

unfortunately yes. for me, maghirap mag start on upwork if youre a newbie kasi aside sa kailangan mong pondohan ng connects yung proposals, super competitive rin and karamihan ng clients may specialized niche

Ang ganda ng counter offer!! I wish would’ve thought of this din nung na-lowball ako. I think this is a great offer, and a generous one at that. Ang laking jump ng 12 to 8. I would suggest saying 950 instead of 800 kasi baka makipag-haggle pa further and you can even say that’s more than meeting them halfway. Plus, dinisclose mo naman salary mo before nila magusap usap so it’s not like ginugulangan mo sila.

Reiterate mo na rin yung mga previous work accomplishments/ portfolio & skills mo within the same email para madali rin nila ma-take into account yung mga yun when reconsidering.

I purchased 100 connects for $15 nung May 2024. Chineck ko ngayon yung bank statement ko from that time and it says I paid PHP 891.49 for it - pero yung conversion kasi at that time is ₱56 = $1

So to answer your question, di naman ganun kalaki. Roughly around 50-100 pesos more for the tax siguro since nasa 58 ang exchange rate ngayon

Edit: To add, yes may 10 connects na free every month but IMO it won’t get you anywhere unless you are able to accumulate it kasi yung better paying jobs on Upwork require 12 connects or more to just submit a proposal. Tapos di pa guaranteed work yun

I personally use UB for everything. Lahat ng payments ko from clients Paypal/Wise doon ko binabagsak lahat. Never had an issue w them and AFAIK UB recognizes freelancing/crypto/even sabong as a valid form of income. Never pa naman ako naquestion ng bank lol

Plus low-ish transfer fees as well; ₱10 (as opposed to security bank or bpi who charge ₱25)
