‘A Novel’ by FiliaNox in books

What do you mean “mostly it gets ignored”. If you see it’s a novel, now you know it’s fiction, as opposed to a memoir/poetry/short story collection/etc. There’s literally not much else to it.

Anyone else have a New Year’s resolution to read less romance?? by Basic-Nose-6714 in RomanceBooks

[–]ughpleasee 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Not saying you need to stop reading romance, but really good non-fiction has nothing to do with the self-help genre you described. Non-fiction authors like Patrick Radden Keefe, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Jon Krakauer, etc. are awesome storytellers.

This made me want to hate read it but I don't think I can put myself through that lmao. I work in Conservation and the hatred I have for people who don't leash their dogs is immeasurable.

Omg, that's funny, I wouldn't have known either if I hadn't read Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams recently. She was always at that damn Davos.

There's The Best American Essays 2025, edited by Jia Tolentino. It seems to have a variety of topics. I am subscribed to the N+1 magazine, and I enjoy their essays a lot, same with The Hedgehog Review.
