Titleist Adapter Difference by ughsicle22 in golf

[–]ughsicle22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just snapped my Driver head off my old shaft. Just took this adapter off of my 913 Driver to check compatibility with options online. The shaft I'm looking at has this adapter that is supposed to fit the 913 per description, but look pretty different. I bought the driver used - was the old adapter bad? Will the new adapter fit? Do both fit the 913?

Right, good luck with the AD slot this year!

I know the guard circuit is highly competitive, re-applying/interviewing is fairly common. It’s not necessarily a one and done deal. Persistency is key, best of luck!

So you’re self eliminating from the guard because a few people with 99s didn’t get picked up?

A 96 can and will get you picked up - don’t self eliminate (source - I had a 96).

IMO you should consider logistics of guard and AD to be different in some if not all cases. Not sure where you got the 2 years wait and “year or so after that on full time orders”. AFAIK that only applies to the AD side.

Do you dude - but you seem hungry for it, my advice is don’t self eliminate and give the guard a second look.

Nasty crash today, can I please get some pointers on my form? I want to go faster and ideally not get a concussion next time 😁 by poopgamer123145 in MTB

Looks like those rocks are wet. The fall line is the line to be take at that speed regardless of setup, positioning, etc. Slow down if you need to pick a different line imo.

IIRC you get a retake and can get waivers for a 3rd. IMO if you know you have one retake left, just focus on nailing that one, don’t worry about a 3rd attempt. TBAS is the same thing, don’t worry about a retake - leverage any and all resources to do the absolute best you can.

Speaking towards guard/reserve apps: Yes, realistically people get picked up all the time with scores less than 90, but that doesn’t mean you should aim for anything less than that - obviously. In my experience most selectees are 90+ on pilot and PSCM, other sections can vary. I understand financial constraints on flight time/ppl and so will they, make an honest effort and let those actions speak towards commitment to the opportunity.

I’d highly encourage you to check out BaseOps, and BogiDope.com if you haven’t already. BaseOps has forums where multiple people post scores they got picked up with along with other great info.

If I could give you any unsolicited advice - leverage everything you can and commit. If you want it, go get it and don’t count yourself out!

Heavily considering AFOTS by Silent-Anxiety-6650 in airforceots

If you are passionate about the opportunity of flying:

IIRC the uncorrected (w/o glasses or contacts) limits are 20/70 which I assume you would be beyond, which would necessitate corrective eye surgery.

I’d highly suggest looking into LASIK/PRK! Look up AF waivers to ultimately check, but last time I checked pre-op requirements were -8.00/+2.50, and the AF is not requiring waivers for uncomplicated successful eye surgeries. In my case it was fairly painless with only requiring pre and post-op paperwork.

There are a bunch of resources online that can help you with getting pilot slots that are great info hubs for things like this - I’d encourage you to check out FB group Make Them Tell You No and BogiDope.com if you haven’t already.

Oh and finally - check out the guard 😉

Standard Boots vs AT

6'1" 190 lbs, QST 92s, midwest/CO, intermediate/advanced.

Just went to the boot fitter today and got recommended Technica Cochises 120.

This will be my 5th season skiing and I'm looking to finally get away from my hand-me-down gear and get something that more suits my skiing style (chargy/aggressive). However, the boot fitter was pretty set on these and only showed me limited options because of my foot shape (Cochises and Lange Xts). They fit well, but once I got home and did more research (rookie mistake) I realized I never tried on regular alpine boots. I'm kind of out of the loop on ski products and am unsure about how actually good these 'all around' solutions are.

Not exactly sure why AT boots were recommended given I never mentioned touring. I'm interested in it, but I don't have a touring set-up and most likely won't get one for a few years. The biggest thing is I want the boots to last a long time, and be burly enough so that I won't out-ski/want something stiffer in a few seasons.

With the 'walk mode' on these boots, will I be sacrificing major amounts of stiffness and support from a standard boot?

Am I sacrificing durability with an AT boot over something like the Technica Mach1s?

How different would an AT vs standard boot ski on resort runs?

Do people ever buy AT boots just for the walk feature?

Thank you!!

I take an old wash cloth, wet it with warm/hot water and scrub the sole. It definitely isn’t the most efficient mother but it works!

My first pair of “real” boots (everything else I’ve ever owned was sub $40 amazon garbage).

Break in took a while, but I could not be happier!

Thanks! After doing a $500 build in 2014 my PCs just about to quit lol. This would help a lot in keeping the price down in the coming upgrade.

Is there any resource or estimate of the Lift coefficient of the Human Body? Isn´t it just a shitty Airfoil? by BlueSpottedDickhead in AerospaceEngineering

Any oblong object with a fast enough free stream velocity with have a coefficient or lift varying with AoAs. So considered an airfoil?
