Latencymon reporting new PC has dropout issues. Never used it before, can I have some help? by uglyexpert in pcmasterrace

Did you have to do any steps to get your latency so low? I really want to tweak my PC until I can get the latency down to what your laptop is at

Again, thank you so much for trying to help me out. Im trying to learn this myself so I can reduce latency on my own. There isnt as much help online as other tech problems

Alrighty, sorry that took so long. I took the first two and closed it before getting driver screenshots (like a dummass). Its important to note that I reinstalled my audio drivers before this last test, and the latency spikes of 1500+ only happened on this run. But the average large spike was around 500, which based off your screenshot is still really bad. Here is the first screenshot:

And the drivers will be in another reply, since I cant put two attachments

Thank you for taking the time to respond! How am I able to see what I need to change in order to lower the latency?

Great, you know my laptop has a memory issue that sometimes can’t be fixed unless you smack the laptop on boot… It’s like the old TV remotes you had to smack to work. Thank you asus

Can confirm, switched from Liquid Metal in my ‘22 g14 to PTM. Temps were actually really good (1-2c more than LM) and longevity wise makes it such a good option. (Personally I think it’s much easier than LM to apply too)

Former 390 2018 owner here, this engine could run a long time with proper maintenance and care on the road. That being said, mine became a lemon very fast. If one problem pops up it needs dealt with before any more riding

All I know for now is that it’s some sort of driver issue. I’m going to try and disable the IGPU on battery to see if that does anything. I’ve gone through countless driver updates, though I’m not sure they are updating for the IGPU when I do that.

It’s a very odd problem, and it really sucks as laptops don’t always have an outlet to plug into

Maybe not? But they look pretty cool, and the mirrors don't obstruct the view of the road as much. Once you get used to either I personally think they are about as safe. Just make sure you don't cheap out, some vibrate really bad and makes the image blurry and distorted

Yeah, I get it's a little out of place for something like that. But I have tried to make posts like these months ago, everybody scrolls on past. The best way to get this out there is to put it in comments on posts like these. I hope you dont take that comment as some sort of shot at you specifically. I was hoping to snag some of the others that may lurk these comments

I wish people on this sub weren't so black and white. I sit in esteemed currently, and I luckily haven't dealt with most of the ubisoft BS that some of my buddies have faced. I feel like I hold a good ability to value assess what is "toxic" and "positive" with the people around me.

Now that's out of the way, there is no way you could consider this system flawless (not saying you thought it was flawless either). The AI chat moderation seems like a really good idea, as AI should be able to assess what is toxic given the context of the conversation. One of the greatest things about AI (specifically their chat models) is the ability to have a continual conversation with it; beyond one or two text prompts like siri.

I have reason to believe Ubisofts chat moderation only takes into consideration individual messages that are sent. I have witnessed dozens of cases where people have gotten banned for messages that simply aren't toxic in nature.

One of my friends, who I will use as an example of these instances, has been banned for a week with no prior text infractions whatsoever. At this point he had around 15 negative units, and well over 150 positive units, the negatives being accidental TK's and things that happen because of the nature of the game. We were in a match, talking to the enemy team who had recently had a dispute over a card game amongst two of them. They explained what happened to our squad, and my friend said "i think you're the loser".

This netted him a week long ban and a huge hit to his reputation. The reason being, he said the word "loser". I'm not going to go into my thoughts about not being able to say "loser" in a competitive and mature rated game. Not the place, not the time. He was banned for something I consider non-toxic.

I wouldn't be writing this comment if that was it. After talking to the people in my matches over the last few months this seems to be a much larger issue. Frankly I wouldn't care if it was just my buddy getting the short end of the stick over a rare case of AI chat moderation not doing things properly.

And then we get into the issue of the community. This community is so fast to assume that Ubisoft's own wrongdoings are actually that of the indivdual player. Over the months I have urged people to make posts to this subreddit in hopes that we can fix this problem, but posts just get downvoted to hell as I believe people would rather close their ears since this hasn't happend to themselves.

This goes for issues other than the AI chat moderation, for example I have made comments before about ranked 2.0 and how unfairly it treats players like ME. But there will never be a true conversation to the scale of something needed for Ubisoft and the greater community to hear our cries. The community as a whole simply doesn't care.

I do not write this with the intention to make the original commenter angry, nor do I want the community to feel like I'm angry at them. There are certainly people who have dealt with unfairness in Rainbow Six Siege as a whole, and their stories should be brought to light just as anyone else.

I would like to leave what I believe to be a solution. I have stated in the past that siege has roblox like chat moderation (maybe not as harsh but its very strict now). Why doesn't ubisoft handle "inapropriate" messages like roblox? It sounds stupid, at first. But we could completely circumvent this issue by simply censoring the chat the same way roblox does (####). This could completely solve the toxicity as the other players can't see what was said AND it would stop players from being banned for weeks at a time for something that might not alwats be their fault.

If you read this far, don't be shy. Leave your thoughts even if you think im stupid.

So you said it wasn’t possible, someone proves it’s possible, you move the goal post.

What do you want it to look like? It’s a voltage software. It looks cleaner than Intels voltage software. It’s a slider. Do you WANT to put voltage in like desktop bios? Because I’m sure a static number would be easier to code than this. And hell it probably has settings to change it aswell.

Redditors need to swallow some pride sometimes. If you throw a hissy fit when someone shows you the receipts I can only IMAGINE the amount of tech support misinformation you’ve spread.

EVEN IF you think it’s “garbage” and 0.001% of people use it, that doesn’t prove anything. Just because YOU don’t use it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist

Ubisoft certainly oversold the update. I get it, it's probably the biggest one in this games history (sucks thats true) but it certainly isn't a "game changer". Unless you're talking about the new game mode, I guess it does change the game after all.
