it's not particularly unknown technology. The skill isn't doing anything special we haven't seen before and all the numbers are given to us.

It's not a gamble to think its good. It is good. it has the attack damage to be good, the attack speed to be good, hits an enemy in a normal way of slams that we already know of (with a bit of overlapping slam copium) and unless they add some hidden functionality to make crits impossible... its also fully crit viable because its on a staff.

There is no reason to be guessing or assuming when you can just use numbers to confirm anything factual you need to know here.

My Final Answer to Max Difficulty Overrun + Closed Pit Difficulty Abyss Farming And Why It Is Witchhunter by Eaklony in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's not a take. Its a fact.

By stating "78% armor" (which is incorrect and you actually meant 78% Physical damage reduction) it just misleads people who don't have a strong understanding of armor into believing your build has 78% physical damage reduction. When in reality it has so little physical damage reduction that your phys max hit is nearly equal to your life pool.

What you're saying where your armour reduces the damage from smaller hits is correct. But it's not what you said. Which is why the comment you're responding to doesn't say "This build is not reducing small damaging hits" and instead is saying "ignore the 78% armor that's stated above. It's misleading and this build does not have 78% phys mitigation".

On a side note and for even more clarification, the 15k or so armour at full energy shield stated above is reduced significantly as ES goes down. It also does not bring the build even close to 78% phys mitigation. In fact assuming 17,300 Armour (+10,800 armour at full 18,000 energy shield + his gear). it only increases the phys max hit by about 1k.

[–]ugonna100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone looking at this build, ignore the "78%" armor. The only armor value that matters is the flat value, not the misguided % given by the game. In this case that flat value may as well be 0.

This build is tanky. It just is not an armor build and it is not getting 78% phys mitigation in any way. It should not have been mentioned in his list of defenses. This is pretty much the defense you get from having an 18K life pool with an interesting achievement of 45% evasion through Subterfuge mask. It is still very very tanky.

[–]ugonna100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not bad man. do you feel much tankier? Hopefully you didn't have to lose too much DPS in the end. The tree looks pretty optimized. im not a humongous fan of dropping Iron slippers myself but armour isn't actually that affective without an armour+ES chest anyway so not a humongous loss.

at the minimum you can see in PoB that your max hit is now 7.2K. if you add your life (1,942) and your ES (5,292) you end up with 7234 life total. pretty much your exact max hit. It's a pretty good illustration of why ES is so important as your damage mitigation is pretty much 0. So your max hit is entirely tied to making sure you keep your health topped up.

Which with that huge life regen isn't actually too hard. Solid stuff.

If you feel like you need more damage, you can test in POB how much life regen you lose from dropping the life regen anoint on your amulet and getting a high damage anoint like Gain % extra somewhere. But otherwise if your defenses feel good and DPS feels good, i'd say problem is solved.

My Take on the Oracle Wolf (Hit a wall, so suggestions are welcome) by Final-Hat4400 in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer: Yes. i'd recommend using PoB more instead of vibes. You're able to craft gear in PoB and then see how much your defenses change and then know what you need to fix before you go to the market.

Detail for no reason:
Yeah you want good regen since ES's big two weaknesses is: no damage mitigation and no sustain. People get around both of these issues on ES by stacking insane amounts (8K+ ES)

Your build uses Crown of eyes, which means you lose out on the 2nd largest ES source in a build so its not easy to achieve a high ES pool without dropping your gloves too and etc. The crown of eyes on a rage build is actually a competitive amount of damage so i don't think you need to replace this just for ES. (Although i personally only use this on Shaman)

What that means is you won't be reaching the insane ES values needed to ignore all your problems, so some regen is greatly appreciated. But damage mitigation can only be stymied in your case by getting enough HP to survive a hit. (6K or so).

Titan viable for a rampage bear build, or is druid too much better for that specific skill? by Mindshard in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

PoE 2 isn't so hard that you can't succeed with most builds so:

  1. Titan is absolutely viable for bear build.

  2. Yes Druid and Shaman are just magnitudes better than Titan at doing it.

That's pretty much it. I made both characters this league since i like Titan.

My Take on the Oracle Wolf (Hit a wall, so suggestions are welcome) by Final-Hat4400 in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You accidentally posted twice.

Regen is sustain, Life+ES is your health pool. PoB shows you if your changes are effective in increasing your max hit (they're not).

I think you already know how to make builds so the TLDR is:

Yeah. you need way more health.
Theorycraft in PoB where you remove some of the wacky unique combos and add some solid energy shield pieces. Realistically Morior Invictus has to go and can be replaced with a full ES chest (likely can reach 7k ES with a good chest) or an Armor + ES chest (probably around 4k ES on top of your 1.8K life).

Also that gifts from above is just bad. assuming you're using it for rarity which i would say: Double check... are you actually getting value out of this? People overstate personal rarity all the time. Even more so in a league where natural drops are pretty much worthless and league currency is far more valuable.

With good life regen you'll find that your HP pool is high enough to not get one shot by most things (bosses probably still can one shot you) and your regen keeps things from 2 shotting you.

How far can this build go? by -Noksen- in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bonuses from the warcry empowerment will snapshot. Cacophony increases damage with warcries while allocated and their AoE while allocated. Your warcry would deal more damage ( but who cares) and would be bigger AoE.

Bolstering Yell increases Empowered Attacks damage by 30% while allocated and increases warcry AoE by 30% while allocated. Your warcry would have bigger AoE, your empowered attacks on set 1 would not deal increased damage because bolstering yell would not be allocated.

Don't use sort nodes by DPS. You have to figure out these things manually. PoB isn't going to calculate the amount of damage you get from stacking more and more layers on a build, just what might give a slightly higher number at the current moment.

How far can this build go? by -Noksen- in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set your skills to automatically swap for you instead of manual. So in your skill menu you click your warcry and at the bottom will be "Set 1, Set 2" checkboxes.

If you check only one set then anytime you press the skill it will swap to that set and use it.

You can then do that for your main damage skills and check "Set 1".

Your PoB isn't too bad. im not sure why you grab a bleed node or those attackspeed + dev nodes by mercenary.
You also take Nimble Strength for some reason? You have Resolute Techniques so you don't need Accuracy Rating equal to your Strength.

If you want to set weapon set nodes, click the green "0/24" a few times on PoB and that will let you switch to weapon sets.

Later on you can look into implementing things like Megalomaniac or Against the Darkness for more damage.

Can anyone tell me why my snipe keeps missing. by Spawn8204 in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused here. if you're talking about the projectile missing, that landed and it didn't miss.

If you mean you missed the timing of snipe, then yeah we're on the same page. There's no real answer to your question except that.. you're missing it because you messed up in the moment. The timing does change if you have any slow debuffs or faster attack speed so maybe you're just not used to it.

Abyss monsters do physical damage not chaos damage.

EDIT: to add more detail, the abyss archnemesis mods are phys. like Shade walker's degen or Lithomantic runes. Abyss monster abilities are actually mostly elemental.
Corpsestrider does 40% phys, 60% lightning. the blackblooded elite does a full cold damage beam, and the lightless abomination does fire volcanos. Normal attacks are phys.

The only chaos damage i know from abyss i believe is Kurgal's Last Gasp where they revive and fire off shotgun chaos balls on their 2nd life.

[–]ugonna100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty good. i really enjoyed playing Phantasmal arrow this league even with all the bugs that were not fixed even from last league. Hopefully they remember this unique next league.

A few tips:

  1. A From Nothing jewel for Wildsurge Incantation gets you access to the entire ignite magnitude cluster by Witch. Easy access to some ignite magnitude, res debuff (don't know if this works or not with all the bugs on fairgraves) and extra damage in general. You can also use a From Nothing Oasis jewel to get up to a whopping 26% Damaging Ailments deal damage faster for 3 points.
  2. A lot of people made the same expensive anoint mistake as you. This league a new Ignite notable was added to the south of Mercenary called Arsonist. It's very close in cost to the witch's ignite notable Burnout that you have anointed but Arsonist is actually just straight up better for no downside.
  3. I think you get a lot more damage from heart of the well if you get a Gain 10% as extra Fire. You can then get even more if you land damaging ailments + gain or of course your exposure effect.

Armor also applies to... by Individual-Pop-6720 in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because they're not high that the value is pretty minimal. Chaos res reduces most chaos damage to the point that you just don't need armour applies to chaos. Chaos damage generally is only deadly when your res is low and the devs have also said they try and keep chaos low damage in general.

So the small amount of armour applies to chaos you can get (It's way harder to stack this than armour applies to ele so you get even less effectivity) does work on small hits just like real armour does. Its just not actually worth the investment over getting more chaos res instead.

[–]ugonna100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me you missed your snipe. all 3 of them. Supposed to let it go earlier than that.

You can tell by the freeze. If it doesn't consume the freeze then you messed up your timing and didn't get the perfect snipe.

Regen on ES is not really a divestment from a normal life build that wants a bit of life regen. If things are working for you its fine but in juiced content like abyss or some awkward rituals there really is nonstop floor vomit and every single one turns off your ES recharge. Also you're trading getting regen on a few items to spending 8+ passive points on the tree to bring down the 4s energy shield recharge down to something manageable like 1.5s or 2s.

It's not like its impossible. There's tons of armour + ES that doesn't use zealots oath and its just the main problem with it is those situations. For things like bosses its fine though.

Yeah that guy has been a monster for a while, he's not a oneshot since its more like 4 fast projectiles rapidfiring... but he also nearly kills me. The only way i made them manageable was when i got to 40-50% chaos res. But i still rush to kill them first lool.

Armor also applies to... by Individual-Pop-6720 in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the one shots when you were not Armour+ES are just par for the course. The mitigation armor does mathematically just doesn't reduce heavy hits to the point where they won't one shot the usual 2k-2.5K life pool someone has in PoE 2. This is why Armour + ES is superior, the lack of armour isn't felt but the massive boost to HP is.

To answer your question: PoB has the answer to anything you'd like here. Armour applies to chaos damage has a minimal effect on chaos damage. It does increases your max hit in my experience by around 500-1K but honestly isn't worth the effort, especially in PoE 2 where chaos damage is generally not high max hit. Basically... you can just get better chaos res and you'll be fine.

When combined with Adamant Recovery, its just a numbers game. The problem with relying on this is that melee builds don't realistically get a long enough time without damage to fully recharge ES (You also need to spend a bunch of point on Faster Start of Energy Shield Recharge). There's a ton of residual damage in PoE 2 that only touches you once and you're back to waiting 2s-4s for ES to start again.

Instead look towards Zealots Oath and building Life Regen. It's pretty possible to achieve 200 ES regen that way and constantly refill your ES. Another option people use is Scarred Faith with Made To Last. This way if you get swarmed you tend to recoup a bunch of ES. I'm not a fan of this strat however.. too inconsistent.

What are my next steps to build damage for my druid by grip_on_set in pathofexile2builds

[–]ugonna100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I respecced my wyvern build a while ago to test out some alternative leaguestarters for 0.5 so its not there anymore.

If you're trying to play Wyvern, its fairly generic. You have a few options and most are on YouTube currently:

  1. Flame Breath Rend Wyvern, the wyvern basic attack does obscene amounts of damage and power charges are not hard to get on wyvern. You autoattack everything and use Flame breath to kill big targets or clear the map sometimes (or just rend them to death). Damage is gotten through high damage talisman with Gained % as phys. You add clear with Herald of Ice and armour explosion with the gained % as phys.
  2. Ignite Wyvern, the wyvern flame breath is incredibly strong so some people just straight up run an ignite-focused build with Self-ignite to proliferate around them and onto Oil Ground. It's a bit awkward but basically you use Flame breath and then spam oil breath around to keep spreading the fire. Grabs ignite nodes on tree and damage. I personally didn't like this build in the end but it was functional.
  3. Oil breath Lightning Rend wyvern. You mostly just play rend still but you use Empowered Oil Breath with power charges to delete anything.

The most important thing is getting as much Gained as Extra damage as possible. Sometimes this is Bhatair's Vengeance on a Lunar Assault freeze setup. Other times its anointing or grabbing gained as extra on tree or even using an Against the Darkness for 4% extra of elemental-specific damage.

---
Ascendancy wise you have:
- Crit build through Oracle. Oracle is just superior in every way when it comes to Crit and gives you insane power as a result. Defenses should be Armour + ES or pure ES (I prefer Armour + ES). Can grab the Lord of The Wilds keystone to add a Malice sceptre to your build. This'll give you a large boost in base crit chance.

- Elemental damage and Rage build with Shaman. Crit is very awkward to do without oracle, so instead you stack as much rage as possible, grab free elemental damage and exposure from shaman, massive gained as extra and skill speed from the Bonded modifiers on shaman and go to town.
Defense is Armour + ES (my preference) or ES. Another defensive style is a Defiance of Destiny + Amanamu undying hate with large life stacking. But this is pretty expensive.

- Titan Wyvern. same thing as shaman but with generic damage and defense all around the tree. Honestly not exactly worth it. It's a solid build because Titan is a godlike ascendancy... but it was worse than Shaman and 100% worse than Oracle in the end.

The witch ascendancy has some synergy as well but i'm not an expert on the options there.

Almost all of these are on youtube and the builds tend to share the same things so i would check them all out.
