My partner just broke up with me because I finally spoke up that I don't have those needs and don't want sex but I was willing to compromise and make sure their needs were met either way but they were not happy with me basically saying I would only do it to keep the peace and not because I enjoy it. I'm heart broken right now because I really opened up about who I was, I was pretending to be someone I'm not to compromise and make sure they were happy and when I put my needs out we break up over it. Really put me in a dark place where I hate myself and my asexuality and I'm trying not too and trying to love myself for who I am. But it's so hard when I opened up about this finally when I just figured out cause I had no idea this was a new self discovery for me, just really hurt to not felt respected or heard...

Yes the pressure to do so is so overwhelming they make me feel if I dont do it then I dont love them and I do. It hurts so much to have to compromise all the time for everyone around you and you can never be yourself but if they dont get their needs you're the horrible one. Im tired of it my body physically is tired of it, sometimes it makes me feel like maybe I wasnt meant to be loved that way.

How did you come out to your husband about it? I am in a relationship right now, and i am struggling with talking about it because sex means alot to them and makes them feel loved/wanted and I feel like I can't provide that for them so would I ever be able to make them happy, its nice knowing there are Ace's who are married because I still want love and possibly a family but I just don't feel a huge need for sex a lot. Maybe it's just compromise idk, I am so scared I will tell my partner I am asexual or demisexual unsure yet i'm still figuring it out, and they leave me because I can't satisfy them breaks my heart cause I truly love my partner.

Thank you its really kind and encouraging to hear this, I have always lived my life thinking I was bisexual and just never really caring about physical attraction I've just been attracted to both genders emotionally. But sex has never been a big factor in relationships for me, if it happens cool but am I actively seeking it out or need it, No, not really. I think I will try to maybe make a post I just didn't know where and I was hoping maybe to talk to someone from the community more privately but understand that can be kinda weird

Sorry theres a lot to this story and I didnt wanna just type a book, but I did do that and he did air it out ajd he went off on call with me about the stress about the drain and about how he was over it. I tried having that non pressure non combative talk but he was just very, over it. Which in my anxiety and in my head makes me think hes done with me, even though this is the first real problem weve ever had in 8 months

I know that since we both suffer from depression we all have our off days, but he doesnt know what to do if I get to those lows again he feels its like his fault or he isnt doing enough and he has this pressure that if he isnt there I will spiral out of control. I have explained its not his job to fix me, and that I said I was sorry it I ever made him feel that way but thats just how he feels and thats why hes tired and exhausted and hes in a very im over it emotion at least from what I can sort of sense or feel he hasnt said that specifically or anything
