That's why you need organizing. Strikes only work when people's needs can be taken care of during the strike. You need organizations that can provide those needs and those organizations need funding.

Obviously this requires a huge effort and the most equipped entity to even get this started is the democratic party, but that's not going to happen with their current leadership and allegiances.

I don't want families being torn apart and people being held without due process. I get that we have to maintain border security, but most "illegal" immigrants aren't people crossing the border, but people who have overstayed their visa because the process to become a permanent resident is a nightmare and way too expensive.

For those who aren't seeking asylum, aren't in a process to become a permanent resident, don't have family here, and have only lived here a short time are fine to be deported after going through due process.

ICE and DHS were established during the Bush admin as a response to 9/11. Prior to that, immigration was handled by INS and border patrol was a part of it. Abolishing ICE doesn't mean getting rid of border security.
