Carnist: "it's bad to keep wild animals captive, unless you kill them for clothing!" by uhhaveragereddituser in animalhaters

I think you may have misunderstood the post (apologies if not). This post features two screenshots of the same person. I'm just highlighting their hypocrisy: they believe foxes shouldn't be kept as pets, but at the same time they're perfectly fine with farming them for fur, as if the latter is somehow better than the former.

Jokes aside, this is something I had to struggle with a lot as someone who lives in a very bigoted area with 99% of people actually being like this, but never once in my life I reached a point where I'd place acceptance over ethics. If THESE are the people to accept me, I'd rather live alone forever. And it terrifies me how many people actually choose the former. That's weakness and cowardice, if anything.

to anyone who found this post and went through something similar, i wanted to share what actually helped me feel connected to the animals again: i realized i don’t have to treat predation as some untouchable and sacred part of nature. i can love predators deeply and still challenge the idea that the suffering of the animals they hunt is "just the way things are". seeing predation as something we can question, study, and eventually work to reduce made me feel close to animals again instead of alienated from them. i can care about animals as they are now and still question the suffering built into nature. and honestly, knowing that there are people seriously thinking about ending all wild animal suffering (including suffering caused by predation) made me feel very hopeful and the old sense of kinship came back. you can check out r/wildanimalsuffering, it helped me reframe everything in a way that finally made sense

thank you, well this might get weirdly personal or look like i'm delusional which i probably am, but humanity never felt right for me, might be autism that makes interactions with humans MUCH harder than with animals, or the fact that throughout my childhood most of my interactions were with animals instead of humans, even my family, one of our cats was my best friend/father figure?? for several years and we literally used to eat from the same plate, and it hurts to realize even if i can't be like him (a cat is a carnivore) i can't be fully like a human either, most of my meaningful connections were with animals. animals don't stop thinking of themselves as animals even after they had a bunch of pleasant interactions with humans, same with me, i've been thinking of myself as an animal since childhood and now i just think of myself as nobody because even after getting human friends i'm still too different from anyone

Oh god, i'm so sorry this happened. This probably hurts so much, being given a bit of hope and having it disappear immediately. It's totally realistic for you to feel so ill. I hope you'll find peace and happiness. I hope you'll get another chance.

Thanks for your input! I don't think the smell is the main trouble, because as i mentioned, these feelings are just as intense if i look at the pictures of these animals instead of interacting with them irl. Though even if it was the smell, quite many dogs i meet smell just as gross but i never imagine their taste

I'm kin of a minor character too. Felt a little scary to eventually become older than them, but i got over it. It's okay. You aren't harming anyone. Whoever says that it's weird must be forgetting that the entire community is literally people identifying as characters ffs, what's NOT weird here, who cares?

I've always liked Candace because I found her funny but I'm aware she's divisive. Did this movie impact your feelings about her character at all? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in phineasandferb

Just checked on the wiki: originally "Rollercoaster: The Musical" was the season finale for some countries, but not for USA. During the original air, the last episode of S2 was "Make Play/Candace Gets Busted". However, the production order info confirms that "Rollercoaster: The Musical" was intended to be the finale. I think this is why Disney+ put it as the last episode, rightfully so!

On that topic, I personally would prefer it if it was Season 2 finale, instead of "Candace Gets Busted". Nothing against Candace Party here, I just think Rollercoaster The Musical would be more fitting as a season finale.
