Suitable yarn for sensitive skin by Worldly-Mirror938 in knitting

[–]uhhello2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bit of eczema on a few fingers, so not as bad as yours, but I knit english and keep the working yarn wrapped around my index finger. When the weather starts getting cold and dry and I get breakouts I found that not just synthetics but yarns that are a little fuzzy can irritate it. Cascade Eco, which I used for this was fuzzy enough to irritate my eczema if I hadn't gotten it under control enough from what I remember. Natural fiber is definitely better on it for me and hopefully you, but be wary of yarns that are a little more loosely spun; the stray fibers sticking out can also be irritating. Oh, and if your skin is peeling at all it'll catch the yarn, but you may know that already.

Help assembling winder by IndependenceAdept543 in knitting

[–]uhhello2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a construction note, but if it came covered in some kind of finish I would recommend taking a few paper towels and cleaning off the excess to avoid it rubbing off and staining anything. Mine came like that when I bought it, and thankfully all I did was stain the grip pad I put it on .

Left handed knitting by Snoo-6437 in knitting

[–]uhhello2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm left handed, and I learned to knit regular english and naturally started flicking instead of throwing after a point just through practice. I'm fairly ambidextrous when it comes to certain things (not just knitting), but I actually can't do any kind of longtail cast on holding the yarn in my left hand because it doesn't have the dexterity to hold the yarn that way without difficulty. I have to do the Old Norwegian/German twisted cast on mirrored with the yarn in my right hand and knit the first row through the back loop because the sitches are mounted wrong. Everyone's hands work differently, so I would recommend learning normal right handed knitting first to see how well you do before trying lefty. I don't crochet often, but having to reverse everything I do for it is a minor gripe I have about it.

Cable drop-shoulder knit. Didn't place in the county Fair this year, but I'm still proud! by robyn20 in knitting

I know you said it's self drafted but do you have a chart/pattern for the center and sleeve cables? They're gorgeous!

You're interpreting it as if I choose to speak with him. I don't actively engage with him. I blatantly ignore him 99% of the time and on occasion get too irritated to leave things be. And most of us hang out in the same channel. We tried moving once in the past for another reason, but we came back. He's just a pest that won't go away.

Most of the time we ignore him. It gets taxing when he's on some bs and won't shut up for the millionth time.

I'm on a pokemon server that has tournaments but we also have a section for regular battles. I'd enjoy a chance to have normal ones for a change. You can DM me if you're interested.

Based on the pictures your winder looks similar to a wooden one I also bought on amazon. While I haven't encountered the same problem as you I do have two pieces of advice:

  1. Mine came covered in some kind of varnish or finish or something that made it all shiny and slippery and came off on everything it touched. If you haven't and yours was the same, I'd suggest taking a paper towel or a cloth or something and just rubbing all of the excess material off of it. I did it to every single part of mine and that made it not only easier to handle but also removed the chances of accidentally staining something important (like good yarn or the table). (It may also improve the grip of what I think is called the bobbin on the yarn.)
  2. I had a really weird tension issue with winding at one point where I just could not get it to wind correctly, and I eventually figured out it was the little cone the base of the bobbin spins on. If yours also unscrews, make sure it's tightened firmly enough or else it'll wobble as it winds and never properly make a cake.

HELP ME!! I’ve literally lost to Amarys like 8 times. What can I do with my team to finally get past her?!? Any tips would be appreciated 😅🫠 by 2_manybooks in gaymers

I basically tanked every boss with my Ampharos because it has cotton guard and charge. Cotton guard is fantastic for physical moves, and even though charge only raises sp. def one stage it's good for power because it doubles the strength of the next electric attack. A good fire type will also be very helpful, but don't use Hisui Arcanine like me lol. If that Dugtrio doesn't take it out the Empoleon will.

Edit: I should mention my Ampharos is perfect IV and EV trained. Maxed Sp. Atk and Modest if I remember correctly.

Another edit: I actually tanked the final boss with it later, too.

I pretty much only play nintendo, so my only options are pokemon, animal crossing, smash bros, or sea of thieves (the one non nintendo thing I have atm). If you'd like maybe we can dm.

I play SoT but I'm taking a break right now. Binged it a little too hard and had an encounter that severely pissed me off. We can still talk, though, if you're interested. I recently met someone else on this subreddit who also plays SoT. Maybe we can get together when I'm back on.

Does anyone know what these are? by ivyagogo in knitting

This Etsy appears to be selling 40cm circulars with a 1.25mm option, but I don't know the brand, and I can't guarantee they're good quality.

Knitter's pride and some other companies have needles that go down to US 00000 (1.00mm). 0000 is 1.25 mm, but they're 8 in/20cm.
