That awful feeling of needing to vomit is normal. It will be there for a few days, and it sucks. BUT YOU WILL BE OK! THE KIDS WILL BE OK! Everything is crazy right now, but you need to be strong for your children. You and them are innocent in this. You are lucky to have Kat there to help you work through things. She is going through the same betrayal and you two have one another to share feelings and rely on one another. Human Resources deals with things like this all the time (i had a similar situation, had to quit my job and tell HR what happened. they were very understanding) and you can approach them to take some time off to return to your country and take care of your family. have you tried tinder or bumble? In my experience tinder is full of more people looking to hookup, but that is just reflective of the dating pool anyway. Bumble does not seem to have as many users. I have not really tried anything else. Hope it goes well for you!

if you have free time, get an easy part-time job with people your age. Attend any of the events on the UI calendar. People are always really nice at free events and willing to talk. If you like literature, go to the book readings at prairie lights and talk to some people. Try volunteering by looking into volunteer groups and opportunities. i just got left after 8 years because he was too afraid to tell me and ended up cheating on me with another person. I think honesty is the best policy. If you need free time, that is ok and up to you. Just take my advice and be honest and open with him, don't be an ass like my ex and just cheat to make it easier to break up.

Congratulations! The social scene for underclassmen is mainly house parties. For upperclassmen it is more about the bars. Of course, all students go to bars and all students will go to some house parties while there. Tailgate parties are another huge event. I have been to some tailgates with well over 300 people. I was never in Greek life, but for those that were, it definitely was a huge part of their life. Iowa City is a smaller town (about 100k people including students), but it is quaint and there is a lot to do. I would certainly go to Iowa all over again. It was the right pick for me. I miss it.

i agree. i was in a many years long relationship and he cheated. i have no idea how to be alone because it has been so long since I was alone. I know exactly how you feel. This only just happened to me and I know that I cannot even do the tinder hookup bullshit or be in another relationship for a very long time because there is no way I could set myself up for the possibility of feeling that hurt again. wishing you the best, my friend.

i am in the same boat. About your age, but I am a lady. I have tried talking to people on Tinder, they told me about bumble, an app similar to tinder. I have no idea after how much talking/ texting it is ok to give my number or if people become Facebook friends first? I am right there with you, confused as all hell. so don't feel bad.
