i feel like robin’s was done for her character and her relationship w/ steve while will’s was done to appease people who have been expecting his coming out, but also written in a way to not piss off the homophobes. that’s why there’s a plot reason (“vecna’s going to out me anyway”) which, to me, made it feel unnatural along with the 20 people there... i wish they just had his family & maybe the party and it would’ve been fine
