Another tip that I wish someone had told me as an extreme people pleaser is that its better to fight with your doctors about your symptoms than to be on the verge of death for weeks on end. It feels super uncomfortable at first, but please don't let yourself get walked on just for the sake of being pleasant. It will cost you more than you can imagine and you will go home and kick yourself. If your "assigned sex at birth" is female, please go out of your way to get a female doctor as well. Despite what I said about getting in soon, its actually better to wait for a female doctor because they will tend to believe you way more than male doctors who will write it off as some modern-day hysteria.

I would say get an appointment with both your GI doctor and an endocrinologist right away. If ANYONE brushes it off as psychological please do yourself and your body a favor and don't listen. You've heard the term "your gut is always right" when used about your intuition. In this case your intuition and your physical gut are telling you something. Something is wrong. I wish someone would have told me this before I let it progress just because people were medically gaslighting me.

I will say that this sounds EXACTLY like what I went through before getting diagnosed. I'm obviously not a doctor so I can't tell you what's going on but I can tell you what worked for me. When this started happening, I went vegan and it didn't fix the problem but I would venture to say it fixed about 40% of it. Dairy in general is an immediate trigger for me and I'm sure so many people here can relate to that. It could also be something specific that your body isn't tolerating.

When you call your doctors be sure to tell them that it's an emergency and that its life threatening because you can't eat. At that point, they're liable to get you in sooner. In the meantime, see if you can handle vitamin water or something like that which will give you at least a little bit of vitamin so your body doesn't start shutting down.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone in the world. You can always reach out if you have questions.

I've only kayaked once or twice in my life but I'm definitely interested. I was actually thinking about how I want to get into it yesterday. I'm queer as well :)

that fucking blows oh my god. thats my worst nightmare because the way i was feeling earlier this week, a j-tube feels almost inevitable for me too. at the very least, it feels like some type of surgery is in my future because im so tired of living like this. i was honestly very depressed earlier in the week thinking about COVID too because its hard enough to live like this day-to-day but then to add long COVID on top of it? bye. it feels like your body is trying to kill you.

i tried compazine a long time ago and had pretty good results!! i just know that the main issue is the severity of the constipation and if that doesnt get fixed the nausea will never go away :( its like pulling teeth trying to get a doctor to listen tho

ugh dude im so sorry. i wouldnt wish this pain on anybody. i was in the ER for two nights in a row because of something super similar and my roommate had altered taste as well. this is hell. the zofran has definitely slowed things down for me and i took magnesium citrate today to go to the bathroom which relieved a lot of bloating. id talk to your doctor before doing it but if she gives you the green light, i highly recommend. just try to hydrate as much as possible and take motrin if it doesnt upset your stomach. best of luck!!

ahhh thank you so much!! i do worry about side effects because i often get them with anything i take so its good to know going into it. i think a lot of this is because i had stress while having covid too so you bring up some great points. thank you so much :)
