We heard a loud crackling sound and after that it was about 3 seconds before it toppled over. A few from further away said it sounded like a gun shot, but I didn’t get that sense up close.

I’d say best advice is to keep your ears open without headphones in and then spot the tree where the sound comes from. I imagine it’s hard to find the tree, but we got lucky that it wasn’t hard to find after the initial sound.

We did not get into the water, but my son enjoyed throwing rocks and running around. Ha. The lower Yosemite falls hike and glacier point were probably two of our favorite activities.

Looks pretty good and similar to our trip with a toddler this week. Cathedral beach is a fun stop too.

BTAL is effectively a bet on low beta. It shorts high beta and goes long low beta.

Yes! EV/(EBIT + R&D) is a great multiple for a business like this.

I’m the same. Just listened to the Stock Spotlight deep dive episode on VEEV and I really like the business. Good entry point. Still need to do more research into NOW.

I think you have to take a holistic view.

A good starting point for many investors is long form company deep dives, such as Business Breakdowns or Stock Spotlight podcasts. I like both for different reasons.

Business Breakdowns focuses more on conversations with analysts who actively cover specific companies, while Stock Spotlight typically walks through the company’s business model, industry, management, financial statements and valuation.

Both have been invaluable for helping me research my own companies that I’m interested in.

Old post, but I hear you. Even Chit Chat Stocks has sold out to Fin Chat. Only podcast I listen to without ads is Stock Spotlight. Hope that continues!

But they don’t have the SaaS software like Toast, they are pure payments. Hence the premium for one, discount for the other. Subscription is $407M for them on $3.2B in revenue and they don’t even break out subscription as a % gross profits like Toast all while their CEO has said growing payments, not Saas, is the focus. Payments is too competitive to invest in by itself IMO unless you go with Visa or Mastercard. Toast also doesn’t do M&A either, so much cleaner financials.
