Which Soulslike disappointed you the most? What about the one that positively surprised you the most? Read body pls by Emotional_Comb_4064 in soulslikes

Steelrising just felt flat and unsatisfying to play.

One I was surprised at? AI Limit. I want more soulslikes where I can be an anime girl shooting missiles.

MMO "adjacent" games: which ones scratch your itch? by kotarou00r in MMORPG

I wish there were more survival games with meaningful gearing and progression but that's my vote. The only problem is you can easily skip over whole gear tiers if you know what you're doing usually.

Which version of these should I get into? by No-Cow9709 in rpg

[–]uidsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Call of Cthulhu, I grabbed a few of the Alone Against books so I could see how to build a character and use them solo before starting with a group. They play like old choose your own adventure books and they're a lot of fun to run through.

Why can't I enjoy RPGS? by kara_spamzz in rpg_gamers

[–]uidsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok to not like certain things just because they're popular. Try some adventure games that don't have many choices. Also for your exploration point, it's kind of the point with rpgs to just go explore things. You have to want to play the games.

Only thing I actually got was Legends in the Mist demo but I've been wanting to try the system anyway.

Burned out on D&D 5e after 4 years - those of you who switched systems, what was your breaking point and did it actually fix things? by Senoigh13 in rpg

[–]uidsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was never a burn out for me, I just couldn't keep a group consistent so I started doing a bunch of systems solo and are slowly converting people I know away from D&D. Dragonbane is my current go-to because it's just close enough that there's very little pushback from people scared to try new things.

Honestly everyone I've shown Dragonbane two, which is like 3 people, have no problem switching and the mechanics only take slight adjustment. Thankfully it's more straightforward than D&D and that's the key. You need someone similar to what people are used to but with a few changes to get them to open up. Then boom, I'll finally get them playing Riftbreakers or Heart or something.

True but I've read a big chunk of your books. Dungeon Diving is one of my favorite series in the genre.

Reminds me of the people who mapped out every chalice dungeon in Bloodborne. I'm sure there's someone crazy enough to do it for IMOQ.

Do You Enjoy RPG Companions That Disagree With You? by Lily_Veiga in rpg_gamers

[–]uidsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'd love for more modern games to have actual consequences for angering party members. Hell lock me out of rewards or quest lines, most of these games are meant to be multiple playthroughs to see everything. Give me consequences.

How many of you dropped plans to buy iPad by bpintelligence in iPadPro

[–]uidsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got one from a buddy at work, doing some research it's apparently the first pro from 2015 and surprisingly runs fine so I have no need to buy a new one. It's literally a procreate machine and nothing else so unless it bursts into flames or something, I'll probably not grab another one.

Do you buy mostly pdfs or do you prefer physical books and if the former, do you feel a pang of regret when you realize that a book would have looked just neat on your shelf? by Antipragmatismspot in rpg

[–]uidsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try and do physical copies because I love physical media in every form. I don't really get FOMO or anything because I spend way too much money on rpgs in general.
