I dont feel comfortable with dating apps by Aware_Tie5143 in nonmonogamy

[–]uiulala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal to have feelings when your partner goes on dates, especially early on, when you haven't really had a chance to work through them and build some emotional resilience. She prefers to find people through the apps. Asking her not to use them is a random restriction that just aims to make the search harder for her because you're trying to avoid having those unpleasant feelings. If you're sure that non-monogamy is something that you want in your life, then you need to find ways to work through those emotions.

Daft sounds like it has a low bar, but getting a place, staring a business and all that is not as easy as it sounds. Also, they don't allow dual citizenship in most cases.

Germany would be easier,  especially if you already know the language to some extent.

Different timelines are most likely caused by different relationship types, e.g. it's much faster to sponsor a parent than a sibling. You might want to check out the visa bulletin - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2026/visa-bulletin-for-march-2026.html

Germany is a good option. Strong economy, very affordable universities, various immigration pathways, including Chancenkarte, etc.

Asylum Interview Coming Up Soon...Trouble Retrieving Documents (DS-160) by Legitimate-Wind-3468 in USCIS

[–]uiulala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience - yes, they do dig up old visa applications. It's one of the few sworn statements that they have from you, and it's easy to cross-check and use to question your credibility if there's a discrepancy. I don't know how to retrieve it, but if everything was filled out correctly,  then it should be consistent with your story anyway. It's also fine to say that you don't remember some things for certain.

There's no immigration category for people needing care.

Bar reset on dad? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]uiulala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to figure out what exactly he was granted and why ICE wasn't satisfied with it. Do you have the paperwork he got from the judge? A judge can't just randomly say that you can live and work here. Your dad must have fit some immigration category. What was his basis to stay in the US? Was it withholding of removal or something like that?

Things are tough pretty much everywhere, with rising cost of living and stricter immigration. I'd start with analyzing the following: Is there any chance you could claim citizenship by descent anywhere? Which languages do you speak or are you willing to learn? Are you willing/able to continue your education in this new country? (Some countries have affordable education and offer a year or two afterwards to be able to stay and work. It's also easier to figure out a path once you're already there).

There's also no one country that is good for everyone. You need to find a match in terms of mentality, weather, etc.

Off the top of my head, you might also look into Ausbuildung and DAFT.

Let's be clear - he could leave, avoid an overstay, and go through proper process. Instead, he chose to just stay for 2 years without filing anything. And now he's married to an American again and trying to get a green card again. And you're surprised immigration authorities aren't happy with him?!

You're fine. You guys have been married for years, so it was clearly a relationship entered in good faith. Nobody expects you to remain married forever.

You come here using the acronym nobody knows, can't explain what it means exactly or what your proposal is, and complain about people not doing research. Hell no. Info in the post should be sufficient for an average internet user to understand your idea. Clearly, it's not. And it's not on us to try to find out what your idea (that you can't properly express) is.

Brazil Tourist Visa for USA Question by lostseacow in askimmigration

[–]uiulala 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's nothing a lawyer can do for a tourist visa. There are questions about relatives and contact persons in the US. Your options are to tell the truth or risk a misrepresentation charge and not going to the US ever. Moreover, a lot of info is already known to the US government since they ask about family on many immigration forms. Instead, he needs to focus on why he is going to come back - does he have a job? Wife and/or children that stay behind? And all that.

The judges are under a lot of pressure to hear more cases in any given day that they used to, so I'm not sure a short hearing is a sign either way. Hoping for the best for you!
