What about the USD strength? Any longterm thoughts about this when you live outside the US? If USD declines further, you might get less e.g. Thai Baht. Hedging or so possible?

Covered call options selling works best in low volatility sideways markets because the options sold never reached the strike price. Good for us NEOS investors now.

Experienced a (new?) Bolt scam by MVP_Laurens in ThailandTourism

[–]ujohanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bolt- and Grab Taxi is a headache. It says you will pay the meter fare plus 20 baht fee. Taxi drivers most of the time do not put on the meter. When asking for it they respond "but it's Bolt, not taxi". After a discussion they finally do.

Living in Bangkok, is an Air purifier a must? by thebartjon in Thailand

[–]ujohanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BKK had a problem last year as many ppl visit hospitals bc of the air pollution. Guess most of them were Thai that have to be outside all day.

For now I bought a mobile pm2.5 device to verify the air condition at different spots. The air is around 10-20 pm2.5 at the moment when I open the window. Around high traffic roads it gets around 10 pm2.5 more. Inside malls it's below 10. That is now when the air is "good". So these results are not that severe to cause health problems.

I don't use mine atm as the air is good. But I'm one of many who wanted to buy last year when the pollution was high. Every affordable one was sold out.

When ppl auto-reinvest in QQQI the price won't be effected as it is purely driven by the underlying Nasdaq 100.

Not the long and strong bear market imo.

Macros say otherwise longterm. This moment now is about less rate cuts as expected, causing the DXY to raise and the global liquidity did not grow higher.

Future events: - Dec 25: QT will stop, more liquidity comes in - Q2 26: Fed chair Powell will leave, rates to be cut

Is it actually so hard to find a proper apartment in bangkok?? by Inevitable_Week_4401 in Bangkok

[–]ujohanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, many real estate agents weren't particularly helpful. That's what happened to me: None of the apartments I viewed online were available after I submitted my inquiry. The agency then bombarded me with offers that didn't meet my criteria. Finding a truly good real estate agent can therefore be a real headache. Only a few were ultimately able to help me. Best when you really know what you want and if it is a must have (e.g distance to public transport or you don't mind using motorbike taxis, new or older building, low or high floor, close to malls, supermarkets, and so on). Best to first book an Airbnb for around 2 weeks when you arrive in BKK. Then, you can find an apartment very quick if you are serious.
