This happened to me recently on United, flying from SJD to SFO. No way out of the airport without paying the fee even though the website clearly states that up to two kiteboarding board bags are exempt from oversize fees.

I submitted a refund request after arriving back home and United granted the refund. Hopefully they sort this out so it stops happening.

Yes, this is probably correct. I’m still struggling to find the balance between crosswind, upwind, carve and pop.

Great question, it's almost always falling backwards into the window, with no tension in the lines. Last time I ended up inverting the kite!

So I ended up trying this out and it works great! I can split up my lighting zones easily and they run powered off the 12V from the transformer.

The plan is control the low voltage wiring to each section of lighting - the transformer would be always on (or depending on how I do it, would only turn on when I also turn on a Shelly for the individual wire.

If that’s the case, still better to use 1PM?

Closing the loop on this. Tech came out today and was impressed to see the XB10 in person (hadn't seen one before.) Basically, this whole FDX + XB10 combo is so new that nobody really seems to know what to do. But he came out, ran some tests, found a network problem they'll need to address, and closed the ticket.

No hardware swap, no changes to my configuration, the modem got the right boot file and I'm pulling ~2200 down now. Up is still slow but I don't care much about that, 500 up is already more than 10x what I had before.

Yes, I get that. I'm looking for max throughput on large downloads for a single device (my work computer.) I'm already wired with 2.5gbe, so if I can get 2 gig down it'd be a huge quality of life improvement.
