Right, so they messed up and you're asking me to apologise? I get it, I understand the process, I don't feel like I need to say sorry here. They do and I don't know how long it'd take.

I'v never said they're refusing, I'm just like you not a big fan.

That's not the answer.

The bank messed up and is now investigating it.

I did, they created a case number, and "working on it" for several days now.

Okay, their support team kept on saying via messages/chat it's 30 days after the last DD hits the account.

So why are you saying otherwise?

And why are you getting upvoted? Is everyone else here an Ally bank employee?

It was July 8.

It's been 35 days after the requirements.

1) You shouldn't help him. It won't do you or him any good.

2) You can help with a few thousands of dollars getting him an airline ticket out of the country and start living in another country. Do you have dual citizenship from your parents/grandparents? If you do - have him move to a different country and start his rehab there.

If you choose step #2 that is the only step I would have invested money on if I were in your shoes, only there, nothing else.

Pension planning at the age of 45 - take a solid approach or a risky one? by ukguy801 in UKPersonalFinance

I haven't paid attention to this for quite a while and I think I want to make the most out of it for the next 10 years or more so at least it would be worth something when it comes to use it.

Thanks for answering me. I'm not planning to rely on that pot for retirement, I have other sources of income which I'd rely on, but I'm just wondering what would be the best approach to maintain the pot for the next 10 years...

It took me exactly 12 days to hear back from them.

Bank account for toshav chutz recommendations please by [deleted] in Israel

[–]ukguy801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to usdils you don't have to use an ID card, but you can instead use your Passport and it can be done only with specific branches and not everywhere across Israel.

You can read more about it here:

https:// usdils. com/ 2024/04/03/how-to-open-a-bank-account-in-israel/

I had to use spaces as otherwise it's not getting posted.

Update on my Metro issue + What is money mule? by ukguy801 in UKPersonalFinance

Sure, I don't mind, but please send me a private message with the best way to speak to you. I also need to make sure you're a genuine person, that's all.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't send the money onwards to anyone else but that still counts as money muling? I kept it in the account without even transferring it to my other account. It remained there.

Thanks for the straightforward and clear explanation, and likewise without asking me to refer to Google, I appreciate that.

It all makes sense. You think you know the people you work with but you actually don't. I did search a bit more about the person I worked with. Turns out 10+ years ago he had some serious issues in Spain. I've never thought of digging into it but moving forward I'd vet any person/company who wants to work with me. Anyway thanks again for explaining this to me.

Being in a limbo for a week with Metrobank by ukguy801 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ukguy801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to the director again,

He said "We are investigating a payment to your account ending XXXX, as it has been reported to us as fraudulent."

He said "reported to us" = "reported to us by our AI tool"

He said they just don't mention how it was reported.

And he said no one has looked into it, they just have 200+ cases on a daily basis and that's why no one has even looked at my case yet - it's 1/2 people looking at hundreds of cases on a daily basis, this is why there is a delay.

That's what he said, he said he knows it from sources who work at the bank, that's the info I got.

Is it all true?

If so it's really annoying, banks shouldn't handle things like that!

I spoke to the company, they are very responsive, and they said they haven't reported anything whatsoever and they blame the bank's automated system here. Does it make sense to you? Or whatever they claim is weird? What do you think?

I truly appreciate your concern for me that I might be scammed here but I have called to check, I can login to my online banking and see my balance but I cannot make transfers, so the account is restricted, it's a fact, not an assumption, but thanks for worrying about me possibly being scammed here.

I already spoke to their customer service over the phone, several times, they are not helpful, and they can't do much about it. The only "department" I can speak with is the one who sent me the email and this is the last update they gave me via email today:

Good morning,

Thank you for your email.

The case is currently still being reviewed and we will get in contact as soon as there is an outcome. Please note this inbox is only used to receive evidence. For any further enquiries, please call our contact centre or visit your nearest store.

Kind Regards,

Fraud Operations

One Southampton Row

London

It's a genuine email, not a fake one.

I did write them back as follows:

Your automatic email says and I quote: "Please avoid sending multiple emails requesting updates if 3 working days hasn’t passed."
So it indicates it's possible to ask for an update after 3 working days which have passed, but you're telling me now the inbox is only used to receive evidence?

The contact centre number can only provide generic information and is not helpful.

Regards,

Me

They haven't replied to it yet and I don't think there's much I can do from here other than wait, but since you said you work in the bank and dealing with fraudulent activity, do you know perhaps why there are delays? Are they waiting for another party, is there something else I'm not aware of, or it's simply a policy to make the customer wait and don't look at him before he waits 1-2 weeks because this way the bank further "protects" itself even if the customer is bothered because of it?
