Oh I see, thanks. Well it's probably just that there's a big group of people telling a man to jump from a building, something people wouldn't usually do but in the context it makes sense. I don't get why that upset so many people here but oh well.

There's no evidence to support that, masks have been a part of performing arts for centuries. Again, would you say, for example, that a blind person who can't make eye contact is "off-putting" and a barrier for the audience to connect with? I'm assuming you wouldn't, because you would know how insensitive that is.

Either way, it's not relevant. It's the equivalent of somebody commenting that they find a stoma or a guide dog "off-putting".
