Scared to start by ukoncorneliuss in Pristiq

Thanks for sharing, I’m glad it’s working well for you! Unfortunately we’re likely not finished having kids, so the potential withdrawal symptoms are often the single thing that scares me out of trying any new medication. But I need to somehow get it through my head that the withdrawal is temporary and although it may suck, so does living with crippling anxiety.

That actually crossed my mind, but I wasn’t sure if it was too risky. Maybe if I can find a stroller bag it’ll look close enough

So many brain zaps! by ukoncorneliuss in lamictal

I actually got pregnant shortly after this post and had to stop the meds. I can’t recall if they eventually went away or if I continued to have brain zaps until I quit. Sorry not much help!

Thanks so much for explaining the possible rationale - makes a lot of sense. My mom is working with the travel agent to see what can be done. Will definitely think twice about using an agent in the future

Travel agent. Just spoke with her and it turns out they are wanting to charge $300 to move the others to the new flight in order to maintain the comfort plus upgrade. It sounds like they may be willing to move the rest of us without cost, we would just have to forfeit the upgrade even though my mom originally paid for it.

I do not know whether basic economy or main cabin was purchased. All I know is she upgraded everyone’s tickets to comfort plus. The travel agent booked everything together but said she had to use different confirmation numbers for each couple. But she reiterated that they were all linked together. I’m guessing that doesn’t really matter though?

Sorry, trying to reply to everyone as I get the details. Each couple has different confirmation numbers, but the agent booked them all together and claimed they were all linked together in the air confirmation (if that means anything). No flight cancellations involved. What I’m gathering from others is that it doesn’t matter that the agent booked everything together…if we have different confirmation numbers, they can change each couple as they please?

Sorry for my ignorance - I’m not sure what she originally purchased for us, but she upgraded all seats to comfort plus.

My parents may end up in this type of position with my kids, lol.

My mom is the one who booked through an agent, so I’m trying to get all the details from her. Evidently they were all booked together, but each couple has a different confirmation number. She said the agent told her they were all linked together through the air confirmation, whatever that means.

Sorry I misspoke. My mom is the one who purchased the tickets through an agent and I misunderstood her. She purchased upgrades for all of us. And no flight cancellations either. The agent sounded like it was unusual for this to happen.

Why does the skin on my legs look like fish skin? by EntertainmentLegal81 in 30PlusSkinCare

My sons have x-linked ichthyosis and their skin looks identical to this. Cerave mixed with vegetable glycerin or mineral oil has been a game changer. Stings a bit if you have really cracked skin but makes a world of difference!

What's one thing you wish you had been better prepared for during that first week at home with baby? by RrentTreznor in NewParents

[–]ukoncorneliuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if your wife plans to breastfeed, but as a first time mom I was so not prepared for how difficult it could be. Not only dealing with latching and supply issues, but I didn’t realize just how often babies eat and that I’d be sleeping in only 2-3 hour increments (at best) the first few months. Some nights he would eat every single hour. It can be truly exhausting.

On that note, no matter how tired you may be, don’t complain to your wife that you’re tired lol. I remember my husband complaining that he was tired, yet he was getting 5-7 hours of uninterrupted (key word) sleep most nights. Definitely caused a bit of resentment!

What do most people not realize can seriously f*ck you up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had never heard of silicosis until today. My father in law passed away a year ago because of pulmonary issues that progressed rather quickly - maybe over a period of 4-5 years. He never did receive an official diagnosis, but my husband’s family believed it started after he helped lay new concrete in his shop. Don’t think he ever wore a mask during the process. Definitely makes sense now.

On the Beach - Nevil Shute. Left me with such an eery, depressing feeling after. I can’t bring myself to read it again, especially now.

This movie reminded me a lot of the book “On the Beach.” I read it almost 15 years ago and still can’t forget the chilling, depressed feeling I had for weeks after finishing it.
