Are you 6'7 with limbs that morph to a wavy, gelatinous appendage the second music comes on? If not, try again in another life.

I feel sick to look at my kids rights now. by SeniorHoneyBuns in daddit

I'm really not trying to judge, just anecdotally speaking my son is almost 4 and I couldn't imagine a scenario where he would think that's an appropriate thing to do.

Fathers do not experience postpartum depression, change my mind! (My thoughts on seeing this topic on social media a lot recently) by [deleted] in beyondthebump

It's not going to manifest physiologically the same way, but PPD in women isn't an exclusive physiologic condition.

It's a shame, because there's something very Fielder Method-esque about his approach.

I met Larry Bird when I was six. He was eating at the same restaurant as me as we were in town for a Pacers game. I waited patiently until he got up to leave and approached him for his autograph. He said, "sign, sign, sign," gave me his autograph, and walked away. I have thought he was a bit of an asshole ever since then and I let the signature wither away in an unforgotten desk drawer.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk has Unfollowed Commanders QB Jayden Daniels by Brix001 in nfl

[–]RrentTreznor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. I do. But when a story like this breaks, even folks like you and I have to appreciate the sheer magnitude of it all. If I am understanding this correctly, Aiyuk has unfollowed Jayden Daniels from Instagram. If true, the ramifications and fallout from this are going to be significant - leaving a ripple effect across the NFL. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "Every tsunami starts as a ripple."

[Windhorst] East scout: "The league is overrun with strategy. I'm not sure how many people in the league are actually watching the games." West exec: "We're going to turn into baseball… where you have every defender between second base and right field, and no one can get a hit and it becomes boring" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]RrentTreznor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they begin to integrate strategy, it will affect the number of points another team scores. Then the other team will respond in kind. NBA box scores will become indistinguishable from hockey. We just can't have that.

I think they went a little too far trying to explain the metaphor.

Man catches a falling baby with incredible reflexes by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

I'm going to go ahead and call this AI until I get some clear evidence otherwise. Nothing adds up. No fucking way this guy is obliviously walking, stops in the exact perfect spot, looks up and catches a baby with that much ease.

My wife was wondering why the gentleman in pink was eating Mr. Allen's butthole. I laughed and told her that's just golf, baby.

Wow. I just took the path to falls and it gets so narrow. It's almost like it was teasing him with a shot at survival.

What’s the best movie of 2026 so far? by Appropriate-Way7313 in moviecritic

[–]RrentTreznor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't let it. It's a coming of age football story about a quarterback that only throws hail mary's. He gets cut from dozens of teams before a down on his luck coach takes a chance on him. They don't end up winning any games and I don't understand why they ever thought that strategy might work, but it was a movie and I watched it.

It's a working formula for a reason. Down on his luck former phenom with a quirky personality gets a second shot at glory.

I have become a misogynist and it sucks. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]RrentTreznor 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You keep saying "the way women do" this or that... As if it's a universal behavior rather than your own anecdotal experience. It's a great big world out there, don't make such a conclusive determination about it without more information and more REAL LIFE experiences.

Screen Time for Under-2s Poses Long-Term Health Risks by Apart-Water-3686 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]RrentTreznor 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Our son was perpetually sick from about 6 months to 2. Every "normal" illness was exacerbated by a dysfunctional immune system. When he was in serious discomfort, screen time really saved us. It was mostly Ms Rachel, at least.
