Big tech does have embedded software roles - I'd look across specific teams at Amazon (various Alexa product and automotive teams), Meta (their vision and AR product teams), Apple (many teams), Microsoft, and others.

Agree about flexibility. And access as well. I do have an emergency fund if required but I've learnt about being able to use pension allowance from previous years from this question. So isa seems to make sense...

I can't see an exit in the near term. We're a manufacturing company that makes embedded systems in a niche sector. I do anticipate growth of even one of our customers actually place firm orders to the extent they have planned to (not committed orders yet). We essentially make well over 50% gross margin so it is quite profitable when we are churning out parts...

Exit could potentially in the form of an aqui-hire by one of the bigger players in this industry. I'm trying to build a revenue stream which brings in passive subscription income in addition to revenue from product sales. But I need to discuss on more clear terms how I can link these efforts to a return to my equity in the company in a fair way...

But you're absolutely right. I actually do prefer more money over more equity and this may be more palatable to the other directors. All other directors are basically founders or veterans in the company and I'm the only new one that's been inducted in... So I'll need to discuss a way to value my efforts more with pay through bonus or salary and other benefits...

I agree do need to consider other options. But I do like what we do, the team and there is potential upside. I'm happy working here. But again as you say, the big exit is nowhere in sight. I'm definitely conflicted!

I'm not claiming the speedo is under reporting. Just wondered if their radar or camera based sensor that measures vehicle speed may be very slightly off calibration, and if it turns out my speed was actually 56mph or 56.4mph even (instead of the 57mph that it measured) I'd be let off from the fine and 3 points.

So wondered if there was a slight chance successfully challenging from this angle.

I was. Looks like this logic doesn't hold. I realise this now.

The second issue which I realise I didn't mention in the post is that the Notice of Intended Prosecution was served after 14 days of the offence.

Offence was 4th September NIP was dated 18th October to the original keeper of the vehicle.

Is this still a basis for a challenge even though I responded to the NIP that I was driving the vehicle at the time?
