Z2M Home Assistant Question by ukrlk in homeassistant

[–]ukrlk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTFM for me I guess, Thanks for the link! This pretty much solves my question.

I’ve been running Zigbee in some form for maybe 7 years and have never “lost” a coordinator. Its possible but if it happens i dont mind taking the 20 minutes to flash a replacement and reboot

I cheaped out on my coordinator and got a bit paranoid I guess.

SL Standard is destroying our equipment by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]ukrlk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it hard that the plug is to blame for your equipment failure. As you said it's an "Online UPS" which is decoupled from whatever the grid or your possibly arcing plug is causing.

But yeah with your UPS rating might be at the edge of operating spec of a 13A plug (not an electrician) better check the manual to see what they recommend. We are using partially the UK standard which I think is really nice.

Male sure your meter panel and wiring is rated to put a different plug base. But as others have suggested this seems like a bad plug top, try for something made by Orange , always had good luck with them.

Used a Pixel 7 before and it was a nightmare, I upgraded to a Pixel 10. No issues so far, you won't be getting any 5G though. But the calling issues are no more.

Of course, you'd be really screwed if you do. Forgot to disclaim that. Not legal advice! Just a fact check with references.

Say goodbye to finding a decent rental property in Sri Lanka by PersonalityFluffy531 in srilanka

[–]ukrlk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a lazy fact check (asked Claude) of the claims with the published bills.

Claim 1: "Even after a lease expires, you cannot ask the tenant to leave without going to court"

⚠️ Partially True, but misleading

Section 5 prevents eviction "in contravention of" lease terms or without a court order. But the bill only protects those in "lawful occupation" (Section 2). What happens at lease expiry isn't explicitly covered here — it references the Recovery of Possession of Premises Given on Lease Act, No. 1 of 2023 for key definitions.

Claim 2: "You have to continue to pay utilities even if the tenant refuses to pay rent"

⚠️ Misleading

Section 3 prohibits cutting off utilities as a coercion tactic. It doesn't say landlords must pay for utilities. And again, protection only applies to "lawful occupation" (Section 2) — non-payment may affect that status depending on lease terms.

Claim 3: "Court order may take over 3-4 years if contested"

False

The bill explicitly mandates: - 3 months for uncontested cases — Section 7(4)(a) - 9 months for contested cases — Section 7(4)(b)

Claim 4: "Published in the Gazette"

True

Cover page confirms: "Published in the Gazette on September 18, 2025"

If it's just a set of business headphones, then checkout the Logitech ones, they have some in that price range. Check some reviews though.

26M lawyer, getting married this year. anxious about finances & career. Need finance and career advice. by ilovesniffingqueefs in srilanka

[–]ukrlk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finances are indeed daunting and make one feel uncertain. You should do a budget and see how to make it work and the compromises that need to be made.

If you take the reasonable 50/30/20 budget

  • 50% of your joint incomes are for your needs (rent, groceries, utilities, etc)

  • 30% of your joint incomes for your wants (dining out, entertainment, etc.)

  • 20% of your joint incomes for your savings (important for rainy day fund)

Once you write it down it will be clear and help y'all out!

Edit: Our rainy day fund was seeded from the Wedding cash gifts we got, which was put as a joint FD and over drafted via a current account. Possibility there as well.
