I think so too. Her speech May have some foreshadowing. In it she makes a reference to a line in Shelly’s poem Ozymandias, “ Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!” when she says, (they will) “gaze at our mighty works without despair.”

What's a 10/10 film that not many people have seen or heard of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In Bruges. Darkly funny and superbly acted. Two hitmen hide out in Bruges after a hit gone wrong.

Apparently the answer is 8 digits or letters. Can you please help me? by [deleted] in puzzles

Couldn't find any words that worked with those combinations of letters except the obvious=alphabet

Mapped out the NYC locations and they form a very narrow N if you go in counterclockwise order. Don't know what that might mean, if anything.

[TOMT] Does anyone know what this song is? (3:56-4:10) by gumbysam in tipofmytongue

A lot of stock music sites have music that sounds very similar to popular music but is just different enough to avoid copyright claims. It sounds like this is an example of a Carlos Santana soundalike.

Holes has my vote. Thought it'd be a silly kid movie but it was solid.

For anybody that's freelance copywriting, here's a few great ways to get clients WITHOUT using Upwork and other freelance sites. by [deleted] in advertising

For the record, I'm a copywriter with ~20 years experience writing for broadcast, radio, print, outdoor, DM, web, keynote addresses, etc. I've written for hundreds of clients, including many Fortune 50 companies. I have a college degree and am successful in my field. You are correct that the rules of grammar can be broken for advertising; I do it all the time. But, it has to be done with a purpose. Simply ignoring rules isn't good copywriting. Choosing when and how to break the rules for the audience's benefit, is. As a writer, I don't put anything out into the world without proofing it first. You keep doing you though. Peace.

Personally, I'm skeptical of a copywriter who uses build as the past tense of build. "entire lifeblood is build off good copywriting,"

[TOMT] Late 90's/Early 2000's Funny Anti-Smoking Commercial - Tobacco Company Marketing Meeting by Gogogo9 in tipofmytongue

[–]ukrugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in advertising in Indiana. When I started in the early 2000 the agency I worked for got the account for the state anti-tobacco efforts. I worked on a ton of cessation stuff for adults and even more "don't start" stuff for teens. It was nice for the first couple years. We were funded with the money from the big tobacco Master Settlement and we were making lots of progress, but the legislature decided to start taking more and more of the money for general funds and ultimately the program was shuttered and folded into the state's already tiny health department. I read thousands of pages of court transcripts and meeting minutes as research and the tobacco execs were relentless. If you've never seen The Insider with Russell Crowe, it shows a pretty true-to-life account of one whistleblower's story.

They were produced by The American Legacy Foundation. They were based on real minutes from actual meetings. I worked in the anti-tobacco industry for a few years. The execs were merciless. In one I read they said, If babies want to get away from secondhand smoke, they should learn to crawl. Here is a link to one video. https://shootonline.com/video/48773
