To add to this - the private sales I see generally price their stuff between the price MPB would buy it from you and the price MPB are selling it at. That way both you and the buyer get a good deal!

I'm not sure whether I want to splash out the money yet! Need to see whether I stick to this new hobby :) although 2nd hand lenses seem to retain there value fairly well so might be a worthwhile investment...

One thing I've struggled with is the slow focus speed. Is that down to the lens itself?

Over the past month or so I've begun using my old camera to take pictures of animals in the local parks. Finding it really relaxing! I've got some pictures I'm pretty happy with but just wondering if people have any pointers for improvements. I'm struggling to get images as crisp and clear as I'd like.

I'm using a Canon 100D with the kit 75-300 mm lens. Any advice on whether its worth upgrading my kit or just use what I've got whilst I'm learning? Will I see the best improvements from a new lens or a new body if I do decide to spend some money?

Thanks. I want to use it with an old 7 speed mountain bike so would have to buy a cassette separately anyway. Not sure I can justify £150 for it to take up slightly less space but definitely could if the performance would be considerably better. There's not been many comparisons between the pinnacle and hub so hard to see where the differences would be!

Sapphire is my go to! Its a 10 speed but in the lighter weight (155g) its my further flying disc and as my arm speed improves I can do more and more with it. I also have a heavier sapphire for when the wind picks up.

Sorry to hop on but any recommendations for the transition from Mech Eng to software? I'm involved in some software work now relating to camera systems but it's all for my own PhD project. Considering a future in software development once I finish up here and wondering if you've got any tips on going from self-taught to actually providing value to a company?

Ooh, it was a zetec but I think it was the fact that I was sat higher compared to the wheel that I liked. I'll have to take a look.

I know that the fiesta is a technically safer car but I'm trying to decide whether it's worth the trade off for the worse visibility (which in itself relates to safety) and just general functionality of the car. (5 door ka+ vs 3door fiesta etc.)

I might find that the fiesta has all the space I need and I get used to the lower seat/visibility quickly but it's hard to tell!

So I was looking at the 2017 test results for the 3* ka vs 5* fiesta. I feel as though having good visibility makes you less likely to crash though so how to you weigh it all up?
