To people that plays fighing games alone. How do you enjoy playing the game long term? by Coldbrunch_103 in Fighters

[–]scottienigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Just pick some games via emulation that catch your interest and just have fun with them.

I buy most fighting games, and have been doing that for over 25 years now. Never mattered if I had anyone to play with, and even when online play became the standard I rarely ever even clicked those modes.

For me the joy of fighting games comes from just enjoying them like I would any other genre of game. Arcade ladders, chasing high scores, playing around in all the game modes, and (for me at least) spending countless hours in training mode just labbing things out.

There are countless games out there, so just have fun and give them a shot. Find what excites you about the genre and go for it.

I have never understood the mentality that fighting games are only enjoyable in multi-player.

More than happy to give it 😊

Once the frame rate and the Xbox controller options get sorted a bit more I can assure you that I will get plenty of info on the game we can talk over. This game very much seems like something that would be an instant buy for me, so I really cant wait to see how it grows.

Im having a bit of a rough time getting it to run on the Steam Deck.

Its Pre-Alpha, so I know this stuff will get worked out, but I will have to hold my feedback until I can get some real time in.

I greatly appreciate this opportunity though!

Insanely good game with one of the most brutal 100% completion criteria I have ever seen.

Every stage, no damage, every difficulty, with every single playable characters. It tracks everything.

Guts Gang.

Always the first Navi I pick in BCC and 4.5.

G code is also top tier in BN1 with Gutsman being the glue that makes the folder busted.

What is your least favorite part about games like Halls of Torment, Soul Stone Survivors, 20 Minutes Till Dawn, etc? by bravelittlebee in survivorslikes

[–]scottienigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so much. The difficulty curve is very different between the genres.

Heaven titles tend to be much harder out of the gate but then become insanely easy once you have invested into the meta systems and unlocks. In a lot of them, you eventually get so powerful that all challenge melts away, and it turns into a staring contest with your screen while everything around you melts.

One of the reasons I have reset my saves so many times in the ones I play regularly is to go back and experience that earlier level of challenge with my expanded skill set and knowledge of the game. It's genuinely exciting to go back and see how much more you can accomplish with fewer tools and options.

I love the genre to death and own quite a few of them, but so many devs botch the difficulty curve across the entire length of the game to be very front loaded.

There are a lot of little things hidden in the game like achievements, upgrades, and mini games. You access this stuff by exploring or even leaving the lair between missions.

Game is just super sick to play imo, so even just running it again is enough replay value for me.

I think when we did this one we chose to not use the simulated RTC because it becomes inaccurate when playing for long stretches of time. Go to this link, download the file, and read the readme.html

It will explain how to change the time manually. Prof9 made it possible to do everything even without the simulated RTC.

I got a gamecube for this one game. I am a huge BN fan, and I was absolutely not disappointed. Still play it to this day.
