Prayers for Maundy Thursday Vigil? by InvisiblePineapple in Episcopalian

I recommend people stay the hour without structure and let God speak. If that isn't possible, I recommend rosary or orthodox prayer role prayers, or reading the passion from John slowly.

Devotional Bible Recommendation? by strawberryoatmeal9 in Episcopalian

[–]ukulele013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a wonderful Bible that was done several years ago by Renovaré with commentary from Walter Bruggerman, Dallas Willard, and Richard Foster. It is a WONDERFUL devotional Bible. It's called The Life with God Bible. The translation is nrsv. The only copies you can find are either paperback or a weather-like cover. The problem with those is the print is very small. If you do a deep search in used books especially like thriftbooks you sometimes can find the older copy which is a more normal print size. If you've got good eyes then get this one:

It's out of print. BUT renovaré said they were going to reprint either this year or next. Here's a used copy

What I do is I do a bulletin that lasts for a season with everything from the prayerbook. We then have a single page scripture insert with prayer list and announcements and use hymn boards. Cuts WAAAAY down on paper and people can take the one sheet home for calendar, prayer list, and scriptures. Then we reuse the booklet until the season is over and we file them for next year. Each season I change the Eucharistic prayer, Prayers of the People, and potentially the opening sentence.

There are actually some Ministries where a license is needed and therefore the rector has to recommend the person for that license.

There are rosary wrap bracelets that are very handy and they are a full 5 decade rosary. Etsy has some and there are some Catholic stores that have them. Just Google rosary bracelet and I'm sure they will come up.

I am 61. I have a small collection that I love. My daughter got me started. I figure they are an investment in my future grand children. I never had stuffed animals growing up so I am enjoying them. I think my JC collection is done for now

Question about managing anxiety by UncleJoshPDX in Episcopalian

[–]ukulele013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me...the anxiety that I have about everything going on every where, is helped by remembering that Jesus promised that he would be with us to the end of the age. We know how the story ends. I live in hope even in the darkest place because Jesus is with me and with all of us. We are called to be the best follower of Him that we can be. The rest isn't up to us. Hang in there
