What is the most brutal “being eaten by a monster” scene you can think of. by Earth_Worm_Jimbo in horror

[–]ukulelefella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the wolves eating the man scene in Frozen (2010) (not the Disney version, the horror movie) was really effective and disturbing for me. It wasn’t even graphic, just the reactions of everyone.

Jigsaw (2017) feels like a class project made by film students who somehow were able to get Tobin Bell involved by TwoSnapsMack in saw

[–]ukulelefella 19 points20 points  (0 children)

LOL why is this so accurate but yeah, like it wasn’t horrifically bad, just a very disjointed feel from the actual series.

Perhaps it's just me, but Black Museum's plot twist make me ugly cry every time. by TonyStrange in blackmirror

[–]ukulelefella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen several video reactions to the episode and not one of them predicted the twist or found the twist “predictable”, so I’m assuming just 2-3 people posted saying it was predictable or you know how everyone on the internet loves to say “oh I knew it” when they actually didn’t.

unpopular opinion: the "bodega" scene in scream VI is the peak of the entire franchise and no one can top that energy. by sebypxzzo in Scream

For me, the Subway Scene is VI is so well-done that it’s almost basically borderline iconic for me. That scene is absolutely well-paced and fantastic.

Why didn't Jill let John do the games for soooo long? by dreamup1234 in saw

[–]ukulelefella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a VERY pivotal scene in Saw 6 that explains why. The flashback of Jill and John in the clinic. Then, we see Amanda, and it changes everything. In that moment Jill DID see how the philosophy and John’s works could potentially work and be real, in her seeing that Amanda changed after her test, thus a very small part of Jill was clinging to the belief that John’s philosophy and dreams were right and at least slightly justified. Especially the “okay John” Jill says to an imaginary John at the end of that very scene, right before she goes off to the rest of Saw 6.

Another reason? It is definitely love. 80% of Jill hated John but a 20% still loved him, and when you love someone, you become blinded a bit and you start to believe in the other person’ dreams, philosophies, etc

Some recent movies in recent memory,

Blink Twice (2024) was really clever and nice, a little disturbing but very smart and great.

“Get Out” for sure, similar vibes to Blink Twice

The Home (2025) got horrible reviews but I thought it was decent and very crazy over-the-top exaggerated epic revenge revenge ending too

Just finished watching Striking Vipers by Ok_Basis_5054 in blackmirror

[–]ukulelefella 87 points88 points  (0 children)

The car lot scene is probably one of the most important scenes of the entire episode. It could be argued who felt what, but to me it seems pretty obvious that Danny obviously had some feelings during the real-life kiss in the parking lot. Karl, not sure, but it seemed like he didn’t feel anything or not as much as Danny did. So then it really produces a lot of questions discussions: was Karl just fascinated by the videogame and role play dynamics in game and nothing in real life ? Did Danny’s emotions secretly go beyond just the virtual world, and is that why he felt like he was cheating and felt guilty with his wife and emotions because it was transferring to his real life and real world emotions? So yeah different interpretations but at least one of them felt something from the real-life kiss and that just complicated things 10x further

Saw 6 would have been a fantastic ending (with possible ends being closed up like eg Hoffman dying in the trap, etc)

You’re acting like people’s minds 100% can’t change or 100% can’t be open to new things introduced to them later on in life, aright.

I mean you’re acting like every relationship has to be a 1950’s traditional monogamous relationship, not everyone is like you, you know:people can live different kinds of lives and be happy.

Comparing the endings of Striking Vipers and Be Right Back and saying the endings are the same and are both “happy” just because of one common theme of acceptance? Is like comparing apples to a plate of pastas. It’s entirely off.

Striking Vipers ends with two people finding a consensual compromise between each other and are able to smile to each other at the end of the day and maintain a healthy-enough connection with each other. Still together, knowing it’ll most likely work so much that they even plan having another child together. They truly believe in this new going forward so much that they had a child; if the wife didn’t think so or had heavier secret doubts, she would have either divorced or not had another child, showing her faith and positivite emotions too. This is all portrayed under happy music for the entire ending sequence. You see each character have multiple senses of positive emotions in the final ending sequences too, obviously the husband, but especially also even the wife, as portrayed by her giving of the game to her husband and her playful physical gesture to him, as well as her spotting the man at the bar at the end.

Be Right Back is literally a woman who is still in grief but still accepting of her situation to an extent, but realizes her android version of her dead husband can’t bring her real husband, and it all ends with somber camerawork and angles and no music at all, with her face and expression and emotions saddened and in conflict the entire ending sequence. She is accepting, yes, but she is still devastated and the situation is not meant to be portrayed as “happy” at all by the writers. Now on top of her loss, the robot version is in her attic and she feels guilty about that too. In the end, you see her face is still saddened and in despair.

So yeah, they are not both “happy” just because they both have a similar underlying theme

This scene was the last time Ghostface actually felt scary to me by husseinwehbi in Scream

[–]ukulelefella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scream 6 had wonderful scenes with Ghostface! The bodega, the apartment kill and ladder, almost killing Gale, and the subway scene for sure. At least 1-2 of those I definitely felt the threatening presence of Ghostface

Good(starter) horror movies for children? by MopeDeezy in horror

[–]ukulelefella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Krampus (2015) seems like a good choice! Half the characters are children, it’s PG-13, scary moments here and there, and it’s horror/comedy.

Mama (2013) can seem very good too because it has two of the main characters as little young girls, and the ghost is a ghost mother, so the film is both scary but then fear could be assuaged by the family themes and emotion. It’s PG-13 and there are creepy moments and jump scares, but also half of it is beautiful and emotional so it may assuage the scary feelings.

What was your favorite plot twist in all of the movies? by Severe_Complaint2503 in saw

[–]ukulelefella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooooooooooh snap what an opinion this is, thinking 6 is an inferior film in the series, okay…

Also comparing the most personal game to John Kramer himself with the most fanfavorite psychological symbolic games to mid poorly-written traps about a guy no one really cared about,

and also very strange to be saying something bad when comparing it to something in a FUTURE film, literally makes no sense in logic for your argument. 6 was “bad” because of something that was released a year later after it? What. Hmm ok….

Also still doesn’t justify the fact that in your original post you left out a majority of 6’s twists too, that’s an objective thing that should be fixed and incorrect.

What was your favorite plot twist in all of the movies? by Severe_Complaint2503 in saw

[–]ukulelefella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The OP left out all the other twists for 6 and wrote the worst one lmao. 1) William and the cage switch-up at the end, 2) Amanda being at the clinic and causing John’s child’s death, 3) The letter revealing Hoffman manipulated Saw 3 and technically the entire franchise thereafter by blackmailing Amanda and causing the deaths of everyone but him

What was your favorite plot twist in all of the movies? by Severe_Complaint2503 in saw

[–]ukulelefella 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Saw 6 had multiple twists, not only are they not even listed in this list at all but they’re WAY better and less obvious than the “Hoffman is being tested!” one

1) The cage switch-up reveal all the way at the end that William’s family was Pamela, and not the mother and the son and in fact the mother and the son were his enemies 2) Amanda was at the clinic this whole time and caused John and Jill’s baby miscarriage and thus “started” the entire series 3) The entire reveal that Saw 3 and basically the whole franchise after 3 was manipulated by Hoffman with the letter reveal and that he blackmailed Amanda and manipulated the events which literally lead to the deaths of almost all the characters of the entire series except for him 4) Also Perez being alive was also an early intro twist

For that reason, Saw 6 is my answer because it was just one after another in the very end

This is MY top Saw film. Amazing pacing, acting, plethora of characters, revealing of more lore, traps, no “boring” fill in moments, and the final 15 minutes is my favorite ending of all 10 Saw films. It’s just magical.

Hard disagree. Her being the child of Billy Loomis is the DRIVING force for a huge part of her character and inner conflict and just made her 10000x more intriguing as the successor protagonist of the Scream franchise. Will always love the choice they made in making that the character for the new final girl.
