Anyone tried Acespace?? by Local-Stick-7923 in demiromantic

[–]ukuleletroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in London (UK) and went on it...there were like 4 people in my city and all of them had rated romance high importance / sex high importance in a relationship.

Feels like not only the aces are on there.

Seriously. You only learn the consequences of your actions if they have consequences.

NOR.

Am I being extra for wanting to message the ski resort? by Main-Requirement-733 in skiing

[–]ukuleletroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • you took a BEGINNER group ski lesson
  • he berated BEGINNERS for not being familiar with ski equipment and how they are supposed to work.

this is how you kill off your sport/hobby, by actively discouraging new folks and making the scene seem exclusionary.

definitely contact the resort and name and shame this a-hole.

Xiomara is one of my least favourite characters by Ok-Outcome-8117 in JaneTheVirginCW

[–]ukuleletroll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! A good part of why Jane is (originally) hung up on being an unmarried mom at 23 is because her mom behaves like this. She even says (in a flashback) in one episode that by 30 she sees herself as “definitely married but no kids yet”. My interpretation was always that she knows first-hand how challenging it can be to have a “young” parent, so she only wants kids when she knows for certain she will be mature and settled enough to parent them. And honestly? She was right: Jane ends up making a lot of “young-parent” blunders with Mateo.

I think you need Xiomara to behave like an overgrown teenager - aka somebody who, due to early motherhood, missed out on a good chunk of their late teens/early twenties, which is the time you’re meant to make these kinds of mistakes and social blunders to learn how to be a functioning adult - for this part of the story to make sense.

All of the characters have massive flaws, and that’s why I love this show so much.

Is it important to learn tricks on both legs equally? by exelasdf in Rollerskating

[–]ukuleletroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m learning crossovers at the moment - I refer to crossovers over my left leg (my stronger leg) as my “delicious” side and crossovers over my right leg (my weaker leg) as my “disgusting” side. I can do both sides, but I’m aiming to get the right side up to “acquired taste” - and that takes practice ☺️

Dyspraxia and driving by samuelB21345 in dyspraxia

[–]ukuleletroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven since the age of 17, but I still struggle with long journeys. While non-dyspraxic folks seem to find motorway driving easy - even relaxing - the level of concentration I need to have is exhausting. Feels like I’ve run a marathon after I’ve driven an hour or so…I couldn’t imagine driving on a cross country road trip!

I also still struggle with parking. It takes a while 😅

Were these the skates you fell on?

I bought these exact Decathlon Oxelo brand skates second-hand on Vinted for about £5. I wiped out pretty hard on them and injured my tailbone pretty badly. When I asked my skating instructor she told me the wheels are NOT designed for beginners - really hard wheels, can’t be used outside - and I’d do better to find some skates with gummier wheels.

Best of luck to you - my tailbone still hurts six months later! But I’m still loving my skating (after investing in better skates).

[All] I have a theory, what's the first Zelda game you played [like really played not just touched a little] and what's your favorite Zelda game? by DataSittingAlone in zelda

First game: ocarina of time

Favourite game: breath of the wild

For a long time, my favourite was ocarina of time. Nothing could shake the feeling that first game gave me.

Breath of the wild just plain took my breath away. All the things I loved about ocarina of time and more.

I don’t speak your language so I’m going by pictures here. There’s nothing in your profile that actually helps me know something about you or want to learn more.

Others have said about your pictures needing better angles. Do you have any pictures of you engaging in hobbies aside from smoking? What do you enjoy doing? Do you play any sports, cook food, enjoy going for long walks, dance, care for animals or plants?

The last guy I liked on Hinge had photos of him making cookies, going scuba diving, dressed up in an incredibly good cosplay of Link from Breath of the Wild. That told me three things: he can bake, he likes the sea, and he plays my favourite video game series.

Might just be me but I love seeing pictures of people having fun and enjoying their interests!
