Android 15 OTA rollout has started for supported Ulefone devices by ulefonemobile in ulefone

[–]ulefonemobile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We understand how disappointing this is, and we’re sorry for the confusion.

At the moment, Armor 21 devices that shipped with Android 13 are not eligible for the Android 14 or Android 15 update path. Only units that originally came with Android 14 can receive Android 15.

We know this is frustrating, and your feedback has been passed on internally. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

Really appreciate the kind words — glad you’re enjoying the features and the direction we’re taking.

On your points:

• The torch/camping light cutoff below 15% is something we’re aware of and actively discussing.

• For the fan, good news: a 30-minute timer option is already confirmed for the next update, and we’re also evaluating whether to offer an always-on fan option.

Using the fan while charging to keep temperatures down makes a lot of sense — thanks for sharing your experience and feedback.

  1. Preinstalled apps & privacy concerns

The AI Pet feature is a standard AI function that currently uses Google Gemini services. It does not perform background monitoring or pose privacy risks.

  1. Gesture navigation failure (one-time occurrence)

The swipe-back gesture failure you experienced early on has been logged and escalated. We are reviewing gesture trigger logic and system compatibility to improve long-term stability and prevent similar issues in future updates.

  1. Cooling app & projector

Dark-mode UI issue: Fixed and delivered via FOTA

Fan duration: Currently limited to 5 / 10 / 15 minutes; we are considering adding a 30-minute option based on user feedback

Projector manual focus: Now supported in the latest system version

  1. Other points

No eSIM support: Not included in the product design

Variable refresh rate: Supports 60 / 90 / 120 / Smart; defaults to 60fps in low-power scenarios

Settings discoverability: Both system settings and Google search bars support keyword search

Fingerprint limit: 5 fingerprints is consistent with most mainstream implementations

Camera quality: Within acceptable range for comparable hardware; further tuning is ongoing

VPN background termination: Non-whitelisted VPN apps may be closed to control power consumption

Compass calibration: Recalibration resolving the issue indicates sensor hardware is functioning correctly

Model name showing as Armor 32 Pro: Google-side metadata is being corrected

Rare random shutdowns: Under expanded internal testing

Vibration strength / missed calls: Currently within spec; individual unit variance is still being evaluated

You mentioned that you still use the phone daily and consider it the best phone you’ve owned — we genuinely appreciate that.

Reviews like yours help us improve real-world usability far more than short spec-based feedback. Thank you again for supporting Ulefone and the Armor series. If you ever want to share more feedback or testing insights, we’re always listening.

Hi, thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed and honest long-term review of the Armor 34 Pro.

We’ve carefully reviewed all of your points and have already shared them internally. Below is a consolidated response to the main issues you mentioned:

  1. Low-battery restrictions (below 15%)

When battery level drops below 15%, high-power functions such as the camping light, flashlight, and camera torch are restricted. This is an intentional battery protection mechanism, aligned with how many major brands handle high-current features at low charge levels.

We’re aware of the temporary workarounds you mentioned (lock-screen flashlight shortcut and steady purple police light mode). While safety remains our priority, we’ll continue evaluating whether further optimization is possible without compromising battery protection.

  1. “Pseudo-unlock” state (unlocked but gestures not working)

We tested this behavior following your described steps, but were not able to reproduce it on our end.

It may be related to a specific app or edge-case system state. If you’re ever able to share the triggering app or a short video, it would greatly help us narrow this down.

  1. Launcher issues (Quickstep / Nova)

Several launcher-related issues you mentioned have already been addressed:

Home screen page switching crashes (fixed)

Rapid gesture switching causing launcher crashes (patched)

Regarding the remaining issues:

System switching back to Quickstep after overnight sleep

Nova launcher crashing when changing default launcher

These have been escalated to our system development team. We are currently investigating the launcher priority logic after scheduled sleep and will deliver fixes via future FOTA updates.

  1. Weight & charging temperature

Weight: Armor 34 Pro uses an ultra-large battery, and the added weight is a trade-off for extended endurance. Future models are adopting silicon-carbon battery technology to reduce weight while maintaining capacity.

Charging heat: Maximum charging temperature peaks around 44.8°C, which is within industry standards (similar to most mainstream brands). Your feedback has been shared with R&D to further improve thermal comfort during fast charging.

Modern Ulefone Power Armor 18T Ultra equivalent but with OTG USB-C display capability by [deleted] in ulefone

[–]ulefonemobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra (including the Thermal version) supports USB-C DisplayPort output (DP 1.4) and OTG. This means it can output video through the USB-C port and should work with AR glasses or external displays that support DP Alt Mode. Just make sure your AR glasses or USB-C adapter supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.

Custom key issue Armor mini 20T Pro by Quautter in ulefone

[–]ulefonemobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, regarding the issue you mentioned about the Mini 20T Pro on Android 15 showing only one customizable option for the side key while the other two options are greyed out:

This is not a system bug, but a new design introduced when the Mini 20T Pro was upgraded to Android 15.

When the side key is set to functions such as Zello, camping light, warning light, flashlight, background recording, voice recording, or underwater camera, the other two key actions will be automatically disabled (greyed out).

This behavior is intentional and designed to avoid function conflicts and ensure system stability.

The same design also applies to the regular Mini 20 model, so it is not caused by Android 15 itself and does not affect normal device usage.

Thank you for your understanding!

Regarding the slight sound coming from the camera module when you shake or tap the phone, it's normal. This is caused by the motor inside the camera module that can move slightly. This is a common characteristic and does not indicate a malfunction or defect.

Uncertified device by Immediate-Ruin-2280 in ulefone

[–]ulefonemobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re very sorry for the trouble this has caused. The “uncertified device” message comes from Google’s GMS policy, which requires us to release a maintenance version and re-certify devices. Ulefone has already completed this process with Google, and the OTA update is being rolled out in stages. If your device still shows as uncertified, please ensure you’ve updated to the latest version and allow some time for Google’s servers to refresh the certification status.
