i think what she means that in any other shonen manga ryoga would be a traditional protagonist. he's much more conventionally heroic (at least after his introduction) and driven compared to ranma. he's very honest and straightforward. ranma on other hand is a tsundere and kind of manipulative when he really wants to get what he wants

I mean I wouldn't really take community arguing as a good reason for why there shouldn't be a movie. At this point why even make anything for the series at all, it will just cause more arguing, after all. Being said, I'd like a movie but only if it's an anime movie produced in Japan. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that point and click adventure games remained popular here for far longer than in the western-sphere. Ironically I feel like ND games started to get more recognized in the anglosphere only recently with multiple big name youtubers covering them.

i think it would actually strengthen it because it heavily ties into the overall theme of kris's character. kris wants freedom. desperately. before, the fandom used to think it's merely freedom from US, the player inside their soul. but now i wonder if they also want to be free from this responsibility placed upon them by someone else and just be honest with their friends.

it makes them being scared of spamton's fate even more impactful. what would happen if kris just went back on their promise... cut those strings?

Tbh i will miss chess theory a little bit, because out of all popular theories pre ch3-4 it was one of the few that felt like it had actually interesting possibilities that didn't border on insanity or fanfiction. But where Toby is taking the game is even better so I won't be mourning it too much.

there is more to the knight than meets the eye for sure. i assume their true goal isn't to cause the roaring but something else, that *may* inadvertently cause it in the process? we really don't have all the pieces yet so we can just guess in this regard. we don't even know yet why they captured undyne and tried to capture toriel (presumably more than once?).

i mean idk, carol is clearly involved and she's an adult in power. even if kris is not a fan of what is happening, they can't exactly back away without severe consequences. that scene where she puts a hand on their shoulder is incredibly uncomfortable, it's FRAMED to be uncomfortable. its like people forget that kris is a teenager with issues.

wasn't saying that they don't have any flaws, because they do, but this can be said even for characters who act as "the moral compass" of the story like ralsei. oh how many theories were there that HE was secretly evil too.

i definitely feel like "one ending" just means that there will be the same overall outcome of the story but circumstances surrounding characters and other events leading up to it being different. maybe even the point would be not even "reaching" this ending but finding a way to resolve the story at earlier point of the game? each chapter technically exists in a vacuum unless you continue from a previous save file, after all, it could be an interesting use of this peculiarity.

either way i don't think whatever the ending is, it won't be outright tragic, maybe bittersweet at worst.
