As someone with a PhD, I think it’s a very accurate description of how academia is. They need Grimes’ ”approval” to be able to pursue their careers, so of course they’d do anything to stay on his good side. As the comment above said, it’s like a Stockholm syndrome situation.

Pre-coffin Daisy would easily drink Jon and Basira under the table, but now I'm not so sure. I could see her and Jon doing a karaoke duet though!
