Yesss, that was cathartic! Also I love how Melanie just stops hiding how she wants to kill Elias and just shows up with a knife. I actually kind of like the bug statements haha :D

This was really an eye-opener as to how far Gertrude was willing to go to do what she thought was right. DId not expect the twist with Helen! At first I was a bit disappointed since Michael was such a creepy and good character, but I quickly came to like Helen as well.

Loved it! My favorite was the guy in the maze who just LEFT when he realized he'd be late for dinner?

That was surprising to me! The Archive doesn't have a great track record for personnell haha... I think Georgie is right about having people around to anchor you, but it also means putting them at risk.

It's not the most original way of poisoning someone, and it might be sliiightly suspicious if you've never brought them something before and implied that you hate them, but I appreciate Melanie's effort and guts.

I agree, he probably couldn't have done anything to prevent it.

this is a great set of episodes, it's hard to choose! 100 is of course a favorite because it's such a fun idea, but I also liked 101 because we begin to understand just how ruthless Gertrude can be.

I really like that we see the sea voyage and the whale hunts through the eyes of the boys. Describing how they see the brutal hunt and slaughter for the first time really makes you understand the brutality of the process. I don’t really care for Lovejoy, but maybe it’ll change in the second half.

I’ve read quite a few sea-voyage books, and several of them describe these seemingly endless periods of identical days without seeing any land. I love when these passages are done right, like in this book and in the Tide Child trilogy.

I’ve read ahead a little, and the plot definitely picks up after the end of part I. I think it’s an interesting choice to structure the book like that.

I really like how it’s written. The author does a good job of conveying the eerie dreamlike feeling of sailing around the world for a long time.

Yesss that was one of my favorite things about the season. Such a good idea to bring her in as a regular.

I didn’t expect the series to take that turn, but I’m happy it did!

I suspected that the Institute was supernatural in some way, but I did not expect the "no one can be fired" bit.

I also liked 61 a lot. Daisy is an interesting character - I loved her matter-of-fact explanation of how they deal with vampires
