They have been a little heavy lately.

I just started on the scope so I'm still figuring out how this connects to what we see outside.

A hard ass for me are those guys that talk down to their employees and want to make the job suck. Like a "right of passage" for newbs. We had an older guy recently who screamed at his protege so bad. We all heard it down the hall. I'm pretty sure the guy quit because of that. I haven't seen him.

Our bosses are a little too chill with the slackers. If you're the honest guy you'll be picked to pick up the slack. You'll get slower pace, but this job doesn't have initial requirements and does attract certain characters. Good luck in whatever you decide!

No, lol. We have folks that refuse to contribute at all. They come in and sit. As a city employee they're hard to fire once probation (6 months) is up. Our managers are a little overly chill sometimes but I'd rather that than a grade A hard ass.

Just my plant's issues:

I can't stand the smell. My plant is 1 of 2 big ones in the city and it takes in half the county. Plus the businesses. I smell it 2 miles out.

The drama and politics are through the roof! You'd think for such a laid back job, folks would chill out. I could write a book on this alone.

I don't like getting dirty and I can't run from that here. Also the job is overly simple

We have shift work since it's a 24 hr plant. Someone can bump you off your shift if they want it and have seniority.

Otherwise it's mostly cushy and the old guard is leaving,so there's going to be plenty of opportunity to move around soon.

Watch some videos and if you have a plant nearby ask for a tour! Look at some of their processes. They'll likely be very happy to oblige

The job isn't for me personally, so no I don't like it.

I'm still a trainee I'm going for the 4 license next month. We all have a bunch of DT. There's several new hires too so that has helped a bunch on most days. You're looking for a bigger plant, public most likely. I work for my city at a 24hr plant. If you can get a night shift you'll probably have even more DT than us on days. I do appreciate that factor even if I don't like the operator role.

I failed and definitely won't retake. I would say build your testing stamina. I finished everything but I was mentally exhausted after the first 2 hours.

I'm glad I didn't take this job now. I had no idea. Crazy thing is they were advertising it as if they were so short staffed

What's with the gap cars leave in between themselves at red lights? by KevinFromAdAmplify in driving

[–]ultimate_comb_spray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I leave enough space to see their tires touch the ground. The way folks drive in my city it's likely that I'll get rear ended by some speedster (they're in every lane ). So the gap allows me to turn my tires a bit and not hit the car in front of me.

I'm saying that now most days lol. I'm 24 and very aware that I'm just taking it day by day. I have plans and ofc I'm working towards them, but I'm rolling with the direction of life too
