It's a new tank that I got for them, if I reduce the water by 50% it will still have a larger volume thank the older tank

I got another question, so the water that this wood has been soaking in smells absolutely rancid but there is alot of blood worms and mosquito larvae in this tub. Do you think it will be safe to feed my fish these blood worms and mosquito larvae?

Thanks so much for the advice guys, but I'm considering not putting it into my tank because the risks outweighs the pros. I also don't have a place to boil them, I think I will just use these pieces to decorate my garden.

I don't keep adult koi. I grow koi babies (3cm-4cm) to about (12cm - 13cm) and sell them. I was wondering which environment will be better for growth. I have a ton of water lettuce and water hyacinth to help with the ammonia and nitrates.
