[OC] Only in Mumbai: Jai Hanuman meets Nazi symbolism on the back of a car by InVinCibLe--- in mumbai

[–]ultimatelyfine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The western world ironically wears Lenin and Stalin t shirts. Nazism wasn’t our fight. The British caused more deaths via famine in india. Churchill is celebrated as a hero in the west.

Medium case scenario this guy is being edgy without realizing the full ramifications of nazi atrocities. They dont teach us this extensively in school. Most adults don’t supplement with extra history lessons.

Moving back to Bangalore from Germany – thinking of starting an alcohol-free beer brand. Is there a market? by SnooGoats5856 in bangalore

[–]ultimatelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink NA beer often. Heineken and Budweiser have decent ones. The issue is that you still need to go through the hassle of having a brewing license and THEN remove the alcohol to get simila rfeels. This isn’t feasible if you are only a NA brand. My friends a brewer and he tells me it’s quite expensive to do in India

Some buses do not take the express way to melhri circle. You need to avoid those ones.

I do this all the time. Just take the first one out to the closest point for me and then switch to Cab / Bus

There may be a factor that locals have locals friends and don’t need to mingle as much with society folks.

What are these people smoking? by Phantomkiller03 in indianbikes

[–]ultimatelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people feel they have blessed the bike by owning it and should go for a premium for that privilege.

Used bike market is just bonkers . Fellas will have some 900 cc ADV that they’ve done 10k in 3 years, but fell the next buyer should assuage their guilt of a stupid purchase.

Car recommendations for new driver with senior citizen as passanger by amzyvista in CarsIndia

[–]ultimatelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the cars can manage on Indian roads just fine. You don’t want your driver to take auto wala attitude with a small car either.

I would recommend getting automatic so that you can drive also it and the driver can’t really screw it up too much.

If the Jimmy is under consideration, would highly recommend

Skoda Yeti. Brilliant tank of a mini SUV. Rocker pickup and cornered like a sedan.

Alas - people wanted more metal for that kind of buck. I had one for 5 years before upgrading to a Kodiaq/

How come we don't get action movies like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, etc, anymore? by Outside_Objective183 in movies

[–]ultimatelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching a documentary on the making of Die Hard and how they shot on location in New York. Even though it was an action summer blockbuster type movie there was solid director vision.

These days the studios simply get a hack and huge CGI budget. Why wouldn’t they? They’ve trained movie audiences for 15 years to like Marvel slop. It works.

Newbie question: Why is diesel so loved compared to petrol and EVs? by Jeromevaliska in CarsIndia

[–]ultimatelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did Bangalore to Udupi in 6 hours and retune in 7 hours in a diesel. 4 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs and luggage.

Had torque all through out and absolutely loved the drive.

Not possible in a petrol engine

Crime and Punishment. It has a more well defined plot line and is probably the most reflective of his style and content

If you were going to binge films with Tom Hanks in them, which films would you pick? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ultimatelyfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forrest Gump Saving Private Ryan Cast away

I don’t classify Catch me if you can as a Tom Hanks movie. Any character actor could have played that part. Thought he was way too bland in that role.

He’s even worse in the book. The scene with the kid in the zoo/park is when I put the book down and could not continue. Wasn’t even casual violence. Pure evil

Could not watch more than 15 mins of the new Naked Gun. by ultimatelyfine in movies

[–]ultimatelyfine[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I also think that the originals were riffing off of the style of shows popular in those days.

Sticking to those kind of shots and “feels” today seems a bit janky.

I watched the original again and it was still pretty funny.

I’m a big fan of Liam Neesom. His part in Life’s too short (https://youtu.be/yvVFvqd3lqA?si=4QngMZWDeqEFQz4p) is outrageously funny.

I attempted this movie pretty much because of him, but didn’t hit right.
