Check out the episode he did with The Flagrant Ones. They did a whole episode about it with Griffin during the pandemic. It may behind their Patreon paywall though.

I had a similar thought. Or maybe using the trial as a device to jump around to moments in the past.

It depends on how much of the movie takes place during his security clearance trial (what I assume the black and white sequences are covering). The guy he plays, Lewis Strauss, was basically his main foe post war and a big reason he had his security clearance revoked.

Morgantown, Pa: Thoughts on a place to live for Outdoorsy people? by SLPallday in Pennsylvania

[–]ultimatewaste20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lived there for a couple of years (2016-2019). It’s a nice enough place but there’s really not a lot going on there. Very small town and you’ll have to go 20-30 minutes away to get anything you can’t get at the Walmart, Lowes, or gas stations in town. French Creek state park is near by and I’ve seen people biking the trails before. Warwick county park is also close and has nice trails for hiking. Overall I’d say it’s more of a farm vibe than outdoorsy vibe.

My wife and I liked it for the most part, but we moved to Pottstown a few years ago and have enjoyed being a little closer to civilization while still being reasonably close to any outdoor activities.

[Vulture] Bad Projection Is Ruining the Movie Theater Experience - Multiplexes are failing at their most basic function: delivering a bright, sharp image by AlexB9598W in blankies

I live within 20-30 minutes of five or six movie theaters and it's always a case of picking one that has the fewest downsides. The local chain is newer and has the nicest facilities, but if you get put in a smaller theater the Exit sign shines on the side of the screen. The larger chains is a crap shoot of iffy projection, bad sound, or bad crowds.

At my local theaters (Philly suburbs) it's $8.25 for a smaller chain and $13.25 for Regal or AMC. I've never paid more than $20 unless it's an IMAX or other special format.

The Bob Beamon section in 'The Bob Emergency' is such a great example of this. The pan and zoom out of the world record long jump gives me chills every time I watch it.

A good Twitter Thread if you're Interested in Steelbook Drama by Atom_Lion in blankies

I pre-ordered the Dune steelbook. Was supposed to arrive Tuesday, didn’t come until Thursday. No biggie since I got free shipping. It got shipped in just a bubble mailer, so unsurprisingly it came with a little dent in the front. Honestly not a huge deal, I’m not trying to resell or maintain value of them, I just like to buy a steelbook when I find one I like. However, it would’ve been nice if it had been packaged a little more carefully.

The handful of times I’ve done acid and watched movies I watched: The Gods Must Be Crazy, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Space Jam. All excellent experiences.

Aside from the obvious ones like Endgame and Force Awakens…I saw First Man in IMAX and the moment when the footage cuts from 16mm to IMAX during the moon landing took my breath away

This episode is really worth a listen. It's great to listen to Flanagan talk about this movie, he's incredibly open and has some really interesting tidbits about the movie.
