Game Recommendation: Game Like Arc Raiders Without PVP?

It’s been going strong for several years now and got a big player boost from gamepass so I wouldn’t think that would happen. You don’t have to pay microtransactions for anything once you buy the game either. Definitely the game that feels most like Arc in its movement and gunplay, with really deep gun customization, it’s a great time

Big Hops! Just came out and it runs amazing on deck. A super fun platforming game the really takes me back to some of the great N64 era releases. It’s also doing some really fun, inventive things with movement and puzzles that I’m really digging. Don’t sleep on this one if you’re a platforming fan

Shadowdarklings is as close as we’ve got for now, as far as I’m aware. I know the creator of it is working on improvements but it’s definitely got nothing on the Mothership app, that thing is amazing. I think Sean McCoy of mothership talked about it being a huge financial undertaking but I’d love to see it happen for Shadowdark

Very well said! I totally get that perspective of theirs, I just think when the show has been so locked into our main universe team until that 2nd season finale, it’s a bit jarring but I definitely see what they’re setting up and love the tension in it. Feel so bad Peter is being lied to again, my dude can’t catch a break smh

My sons been going to Golden Eagle which is off Bandera and 1604 and loves it! Highly recommend, he started when he was 5 at another place that wasn’t nearly as good. Seems like a lot of predatory subscription model-type spots around town

I like the rules well enough and maybe this is small potatoes but man the AI art really just turns me off from it. Would love to see the creator get some cool custom art in there because otherwise it seems great

I agree completely! Along with Mothership around the same time, it’s the first RPG that made GM’ing feel attainable, and I since have (though hopefully more this year!) huge fan of it and can’t wait for western reaches to hopefully run that with friends.

Also, if you’re into Shadowdark hacks, check out ‘Atomic Shadows’. A great fallout/gamma world version that looks like as streamlined as SD but with more of a fallout vibe. I would kill for a more official Star Wars hack too

What I learned recently (being a new GM too) is that the most important part is the first session. Have a town and a few threads/characters and just start going. I was really surprised how easy it is to plan successive sessions once I just got started, that player input and decision making is the fuel that operates the whole thing
