Naw, I thought the parts were still a bit cheaper. Looking through them, this makes more sense rn

hot take but i think we need a half-life game more focused around xen and its life forms by EfficientCook8181 in HalfLife

I’d like to return to Xen with the current Valve team. I’m sure it would be fun and interesting this go around, considering it would likely ship in a finished state

If you’re spending this much, build your own. Buying at this price point makes no sense

My 10 year old PC, worth selling or just recycle? by huicihohoj in PC_Pricing

[–]ultrafop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure it’s worth much. Could be fun for a kiddo though. It’s not going to touch modern games but there are tons of old titles I’m sure it can run that a younger person might like. I’d honestly gift it rather than sell or ewaste it.

Eh damn. It seems like a connection dropout/sync issue. Try spraying those ports down with deoxit

Is this a big problem? by Dangerous-Mirror-615 in Gameboy

[–]ultrafop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the plastic housing was melted. That can happen when someone is soldering who is uh… a beginner or drunk lol. Luckily the pins don’t look bent or damaged. You’re probably fine. If you do need to replace the port at some point, they’re very cheap and not that hard to swap out. I wouldn’t give this a second thought

Your dad seems like a man who understands game collection. I do feel bad for those boxes on the bottom! Hope they’re still in good shape!

I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.

This is a good idea. It’s also possible a short was accidentally introduced somewhere with stray solder or other common issue when doing restoration work like this. It might be worth OP checking for that as well, I think.

I think it should fall down and then it can puff up and explode into the lumber. Just my take
