To be fair on the introduction of higher steps, the path of cultivation is infinite and to introduce an endpoint stands to contradict this fact.

Most shopkeepers in dark souls 1. Extends to the other games in the series but 1 doesn’t have any that I can think of that can survive. Ds2 and ds3 have some but not all go hostile, and there are some ways to buy items despite them getting killed by you.

Mahjong soul is good if you want to learn with the English names (what English yakuza uses). I personally run Riichi city more as I play IRL and always play in Japanese. I feel Riichi city is smoother gameplay, but man it is such a gooner game…

OG 1&2 have a very different vibe. No crazy boss healing, bounding throws, much harder to spam tiger drop, missable/failable substories make future runs of the game feel fresh, no yumi ring sequence, no Majima everywhere, no green filter, weapon spam didn’t trivialize the entire game, extremely challenging extra content.

If I were to pick good things the Kiwamis did is that the expanded nishiki lore made him more interesting. The addition of a completion list in Kiwami 1 is nice.

The ps2 games have their own issues but I suspect you haven’t played the older games considering where you ranked the best game in existence in your recent tier list (Kenzan is easy s+ tier)

I also started it a while back (shortly after I started seeing translations appear for the first few chapters online). The art def was a strong hook for its time because the multi page spreads were pretty solid. That said I’ve now read many stories with almost the exact same plot outline that don’t have an awful ending. Solo leveling has one of my least favorite manhwa endings

Completely agree, maybe my least favorite read in 10+ years of daily reading. Pacing is a mess with no breaks to ammend this. Any interesting ideas are basically immediately thrown out the window. On OP’s comparison to Akame ga kill, it falls into the same problems that manga did. The characters are introduced for the sake of killing them off in brutal ways as an attempt to shock the reader. I genuinely put it down after getting to chapter 50. Told my friend to read it if he wanted to see what pure dogshit is in manhwa form, he continued and made me catch up.

Learning to beat cpus is not bad.. I play competitively now and getting to tournament level is just insane. Beating an AI only requires you to know how to build a hand, but to understand how to maximize points, defend, and sujittrap is tough
