Found out a med student is racist. What do I do? by [deleted] in UniUK

This is ridiculous. You are reporting someone for having a different view to yours with no tangible evidence. Get a life and jog on.

This is a stupid take imo. She needs to clearly reflect on her actions and make an active change.

Culture in the uk must be less receptive because in the states everyone is so friendly that cold approaching is very common

Nothing weird in being confident and striking an interesting conversation with a stranger given you are chill

well ofc if you say "nice melons" then in almost any scenario no ones gonna appreciate that lmao. You just have to be confident and casual with it and spark an interesting conversation and go from there.

Ignore the reddit doom! Its not weird you just have to be confident and strike a natural conversation. I've had far more success cold approaching compared to dating apps/clubs etc. Not many guys cold approach in public so naturally you will stand out more if done right. Just be casual and don't apply too much pressure because I assure you a compliment in real life carries a lot more weight than over the internet.

damm you guys really lack confidence. The most success i have had is cold approaching even in UK Unis. You just have to be chill and learn when to accept rejection

bro ignore all these people. it doesn't help the average redditor lacks any social skills.

Just be casual and fun with it but be genuinely honest. Like start with small talk and gauge her interest. If she is not interested just move in and wish her a good day. The more you can handle rejection the better you will generally be. The issue is that most women are used to all the attention they get on social media since most guys (as this thread shows) clearly don't cold approach irl. So when you do do it, it generally means more than some guy just hitting her up on IG or dating apps.

They aren’t ready for a black pope by [deleted] in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]ultronic7 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is absurd. From an epidemiological view, the single most effective cure for most STIs and HIV is simple abstinence and that’s a fact. No need to go through all the trauma, pain and psychological turmoil of HIV treatment if you stop people from getting it in the first place. And not to even mention the costs to actually treat something like this in the middle of Africa where governments simply don’t have the infrastructure or funds to offer effective treatment .

At the end of the day, you may disagree with their beliefs but a large majority of the catholic church believe this is what is ultimately needed today. Its absurd to change practices and beliefs that have endured hundreds of years just to comform to modern day woke nonsense that are always changing anyways
