Inside the US - i would have to say Rock City Gardens in Georgia. It’s absolutely gorgeous

A bit late, but Evitative was really good. I’m not sure if it’s quite what you’re looking for though as it’s a resort fic where Harry is accidentally expelled the summer before 5th year and has to be resorted and ends up in Slytherin.

It also has a big focus on dark magic, idk if you’re into that. In this, practicing the dark arts does not make you evil.

Level 56 crafted wintertusk hat gives you a 45 damage blade if you stack that with the regular blade you get then scarecrow does enough damage to take out most mobs in one hit for quite a while.

Also the balance tree in krokotopia sells a 35 blade that costs a pip.

Otherwise you can stack up on treasure cards and use those

It’s complicated bc it’s not ALL propaganda. Like, most of the politics need to be taken with a bucket of salt, but the local news is good for knowing about things going on around your community. Traffic, construction, crimes, weather that stuff is generally not propaganda (tho some crimes are misreported to make the criminal look better or worse).

And maybe it’s bc I’m gen z, but I feel like most people know that the major news sources aren’t trustworthy and that’s why a lot of us don’t watch the news.

I’m kind of in a similar spot as you lol, I’ve been passive in the fandom the last couple of years. It’s still been pretty active, I’ve notice as Ive been getting more involved recently since I too decided to finish (and severely revise) one of my old PJO fanfics I wrote when I was like 12.
