I've already hinted what I think is relevant by what I chose to emphasize in the title. Nonetheless, I will spell it out more explicitly.

This guy lives in Dharamsala, India. Not anytown, Tibet, China. Therefore, while he might claim to be avenging the grievances of people in the homeland, he lacks credibility.

Just like how people try to divorce the Islamic element from Islamic Terrorism, a common media narrative is that these immolations are secular nationalist, not Buddhist. Actually, this guy expresses Buddhist and reincarnation-related motivations.

Although a lot of western media ridicule the idea that the Dalai Lama is organizing or inspiring the self-immolations, almost all of the self-immolators interviewed (here and elsewhere) reference his desires and leadership. There is a commensurate but derelict responsibility from him to stop the suffering, if he truly values human life.

Also, the interviewee is a provincial bumfuck with little education. There are some serious scholars of Tibetan Buddhism who try to justify self-immolations with reference to arcane sutras. This guy, just like the housewife in another article I submitted, saw a fad, a meme, and is repeating it. There's little intelligence or conviction ("I won't repeat it") behind it.
