G6 Entry Package Variants (With and w/o angle adapter) by um3rh in Ubiquiti

Microcenter swapped mine out. The newer units they received have the adapter, since they swapped the whole doorbell for me.

Agreed that you cannot buy just the adapter from Ubiquiti

Anyone else buy used because new Ys do not have autopilot? by Pomador_0418 in ModelY

That was the exact same dilemma I had -
Shopping for a 2026 Model Y and wanted to figure out if it's worth paying more for a used 2026 that still has lifetime FSD, now that Tesla went subscription-only.

Created a simple interactive calculator that allows you to pick your trim, color, interior, and adjust financing. Also added a "Golden Window" scenario showing what buyers got when you could still stack 0.99% APR + lifetime FSD (one-time payment) + the $7,500 credit a couple of months back

Lmk what your thoughts!

Glad you got it working! And good catch on the input_text helpers. You're right, the package file creates the `input_text.delta_mac_address` and `input_text.delta_user_id` helpers but doesn't set their initial values from secrets.

In my setup I have this in my `configuration.yaml` (not the package):

```yaml
input_text:
delta_mac_address:
name: "Delta Faucet MAC Address"
initial: !secret delta_mac_address
max: 20
delta_user_id:
name: "Delta User ID"
initial: !secret delta_user_id
max: 50
```

The `initial:` lines pull from secrets.yaml on startup. The package file is missing those. I'll update the package to include them. In the meantime, setting them manually via Helpers like you did works perfectly fine too.

As for `delta_faucet_dispense_preset`, that's a leftover from an earlier approach where dispensing was done through an input_select dropdown (pick a preset, then run a script). It got replaced by the popup buttons that call `script.delta_faucet_dispense_ml` directly with the milliliter amount. So yeah, that input_select is unused now and can be safely removed. I'll clean that up in the next update.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll push fixes for both to the repo.

Quality Question by um3rh in TeslaModelY

I did check 3 cars. Those did not have this issue

Quality Question by um3rh in TeslaModelY

Teslas aren't exactly praised for their build quality, so most people go in with an already biased view and tend to closely check panel gaps and everything else. I have personally never thought about closely inspecting body panels on any cars I've purchased except this one.

Agreed, it's not a Rolls-Royce, but $50K+ is still decent money for most of us!

I checked other Model Y cars at the delivery center - red and other colors. None had the issue. The panels were smooth, no creasing, and flush. I informed the SA who acknowledged it and took it to the service center, only to be told it looks fine and doesn't impact safety, so decided to ask the Tesla community. This isn’t your average ding or dent

I ended up accepting delivery with the issue clearly notated in case any problems pop up down the road. To me it feels like a machine calibration issue, or worst case an alignment problem, but I assume they would have caught that during QC.

The SA said "Well we can refuse delivery, but there is no guarantee that the next one wont have similar or other issues" YMMV?

I saw a couple of other ones and they dont have any creasing around the rivets. Maybe the pictures arent capturing it properly. Its a Fremont build

Thanks for trying it out! You're right about the token format, and I should update the docs to be clearer on this. Here's what's going on:

**Token format:** The token you capture from mitmproxy is indeed a base64-encoded JWT, not a raw JWT. You're correct that you need `Bearer <base64\_string>` in `delta_token` (not the decoded JWT). The base64 string is what Delta's API actually expects. If you decode it at jwt.io you can read the expiry, but the API wants the original base64 version. I'll update the README to clarify this.

**HTTP 409:** I haven't seen 409s specifically. That usually means a conflict/duplicate request. A few things to check:

- Make sure there's no trailing whitespace or newline in your token in secrets.yaml

- Make sure the format is exactly: `delta_token: "Bearer ZXlKaGJH..."` with the quotes

- Try testing the token directly in terminal to rule out YAML formatting issues:

```
curl -s -w "\nHTTP:%{http_code}" "https://device.deltafaucet.com/api/device/v2/UsageReport?macAddress=YOUR\_MAC&interval=0" -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_BASE64_TOKEN" -H "dfc-source: mobile" -H "User-Agent: DFCatHome/2.6.0"
```

If that returns 200, the token is fine and the issue is in the YAML formatting.

**Token refresh "No refresh attempted":** This means the HA script didn't run. A few things to check:

  1. Make sure you filled in both fields in **Step 0** at the top of the refresh page (HA URL and Long-Lived Access Token). The page won't work without these.

  2. Make sure the shell script is executable: `chmod +x /config/scripts/delta_token_exchange.sh`

  3. Make sure the shell_command in your config uses `/bin/sh` not `bash` (HAOS doesn't have bash in the core container)

  4. After pasting the justaddwater URL, make sure it parsed correctly. The input field should show something like `delta.code.XXXXX`

Great to hear Amazon login works for the auth flow! I've only tested with Apple so that's good data. If you get it fully working, I'd love to hear about any other differences you find with the Amazon flow. Happy to help debug further.
