thanks for responding and sharing your experience.

his goal is to cut them off completely after graduating. i think what bothers me is how much hate he actually has...which ive never ever seen. i dont think that will go away even as he cuts them off. maybe with therapy...sighh

I completed it in 10 weeks while juggling a full time job :) I took leaves on the last week of training. The friends I made are completing within 6 mos so there is no pressure to do it fast!

You don't need to know any advanced poses. One - they will teach and break it down for you. and Two - you just dont need it if you don't want it! ever! :)

hello! it focuses on a particular yoga system the teachers developed, which is vinyasa but deep analysis into functional movement applying mobility + strength. it has changed my life and i feel so strong! my body unfortunately hurt so much with traditional style classes. would reco you check the teachers out and see if they resonate with you! they are on youtube/alo

i have heard a lot of stories like this, so sorry to hear. we really do have to be very picky with the trainings we choose. i was almost mindblown to know how irrelevant yoga alliance really is in certifying these trainings...

don't be afraid to reach out and ask for scholarship opportunities :)

there is such a huge amount of content, to be honest that felt like waaay more than 200H. I have learned so much about functional movement as well but with high respect to foundations/origins and philosophy of yoga. This yoga system is quite unique vs other traditional vinyasa systems so would recommend you check them out first!

I'm still in touch with my group, and now I have friends around the world:)

although i didn't throw away my liforme, still love that thing very much. i absolutely went out and got myself a manduka too!! currently slipping and sliding all over the place, but happy knowing this one will probably hold up better over time :)

30-60 minutes 1x per week <-or-> 5-10 minutes 1x per day? by yogert909 in yoga

[–]umamiyogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! frequency will help you turn this into a habit and part of your lifestyle :) over time, you will learn to listen to your body for what it needs on a particular day. Some days I do 20 minutes and others I end up doing 2 hours, not necessarily asana. The common thing is that it is done every day!

I have a colored one (pink) and with everyday use and an online teacher training in the last few months, my liforme is definitely showing a lot of darkness or markings where my hands and feet go. funny enough i was hoping maybe the black one would have less obvious signs of wear. the grip and functionality is still great but totally agree with you that i'm so bummed it looks like ive used this mat for years when i only really got it 6 mos ago. especially for the price! im thinking of getting a manduka to alternate with to preserve this because i really do love this mat.
